ok, now a link to instructions on how to install mods to civ 4 downloaded via steam.
I still have my civ 4 cd, but my warlords CD has been missing for a year or so now, and my bts cd is scratched beyond use, so I had to go to steam. I've got all 3 downloaded and working now, but can't seem to figure out what to do w/ the rbmod.
Lurkers should appreciate me taking over the turns, I seem to report more than Lewwyn, hehe. I can't promise the ridiculoussness of pb8, but I should be able to do better than I did in pb9, since I need Lewwyn more engaged than TT was. In any case there will be a lot more pictures when I do report!
Lewwyn played the turn tonight with me on gchat, and gave me a pretty good idea of the state of the empire and the war. I'll wait until tomorrow after Azza has played to login. This will be a long, slogging war - it might take me a month to finally break Azza. But atm I'm pretty confident that will happen eventually.
Anyway I'll have more thoughts once I can login and look around.

ok, thanks for the help guys
I figured it out, logged in and looked around. unfortunately Azza was too tired to play his turn so i hafta wait. Hopefully he's payedd in a few hours when i get home from Church.
we are further behind in tech and economy than I thought. thats a little freeing though, I can focus on winning the war.
fyi, I'm going to be logging in as "Lewwyn for at least the first week. I don't want Azza to know there's a change at the head until I'm in rhythm with this game.

Yeah part of that is we just don't have as many cities or land. Like I've said I slowed down and was pushing as hard.
You probably want to think about GPs and bulbing education so we can build half price unis at some point.

I was confused when i read this on my phone because I thought you said half price units. was that added to that latest rbmod? Ok, I get it now. ill work in a scientist, but we'll have to research the rest. thats ok, right now we don't have room for unis anyway. we still ave to find room to build grocers in the high money cities.
we will recover once we absorb azza, I think . Azza finally played so I'll get the the turn shortly. fyi, once the knights on the islands are whipped im going to use them to pump out a navy, I think, and build land military on the mainland. I'm probably also going to have to sit the stack on its hill for 2 turns to get pikes (and knights) to reinforce.. well depending on what Azza did with his knights, but if he does nothing, which I expect, I'll have to be cautious. no whips this turn from azza, which just means he's putting a turn into knights so he doesnt have to dry whip.
anyway Ill play in 45 mins or so.

I took my sweet time playing this turn, like I always do. But in the end it was relatively simple.

this is the main battle front. our biggest stack is on the hill sw of amy. we could possibly have moved it towards captain jack last turn, but Lewwyn and I elected to be cautious, and I realized playing this turn that as a result I have to hold is still. I moved reinforcements into Amy, next turn they will join the stack (along with a cho-ku that is healing in Amy) and the following turn we advance. this gives me 3 extra pikes, a cho-ku, and a mace, as well as a knight that will catch up before the force can hit a city. The downside is it may give aazza time to get more knights, but I think since we waited that will happen anyway. another upside is it gives me tie to decide whether to hit captain jack or martha first - I'm really not certain. captain jack will give me hill cover on the first move, but leave me exposed the turn before I strike. martha is just the opposite, but would also give me the chance to keep going south after hitting jack. The 3 knights azza produced this turn are in martha, but only because it gives him the most flexibility, they can move wherever. only 5 turns until azza has engineering
Do you see the galley up in the NE? I moved him down to slowly move towards Astrid, and open up a third front.. the Plan is to drop a mace and one other unit on it. Astrid is currently only defended by an archer, and it should be hard for him to reinforce from the mainland. for the second unit my choices are pike, chariot, or knight (keep in mind whatever I choose will be denied from the main force). if he lets me, Ill follow that up w/ 2 knights, most likely, down the road. There is another city on the island to the east, which is one of the few cities we don't have vision on.
Ill give you a better Idea of stacks on my next report.

Here is a little bit further down. My mid-term goal here is to capture martha, jack, and river and raze adelaide. its more important than threatening Rose (his capital), I think, because Adelaide is his only source of Iron. If I can raze that I can deny Azza knights, making the end game of this war much easier . Thats the goal anyway.
here's the second front. Lewwyn is mostly correct in calling it a front, but he set me up pretty well here. I have one cat in the area, which is bombarding defenses, as you can see. If Azza lets me, I can capture sarah jane in 4-5 turns. He doesnt have much in the city, but has a stack of 7 units (including 2 elephants and 2 horse archers) in Donna. lewwyn thought he might be planning a counterattack on Bacon!, but I think he is just trying to be flexible, and waiting to decide whether it goes north or east. Im going to add to the pressure here as much as I can - i want him to try and defend Sarah Jane, to make the more important sortie in the east easier. But I'll take Sarah Jane as a consolation if he uses the stack to defend east.
You can also see the only mistake I made this turn (I haven't played and important turn since pb9 ended, so that was to be expected). the tile marked farm? had 2 workers. I started them on a workshop, then realized that tile HAD to be a farm, for food reasons. they are safe now, but vulnerable once azza has engineering. so now I'll have 1 turn leeway instead of 2. Should still be ok though.

our island. one more knight building in the south, I whipped the top 2. no more knights outta here, I need to build navy more.
Lewwyn I thought you meant you hadn't built the eastern gems city. Did you want me to chop out a settler for the lone desert/iron/seafood/cow city closer to the mainland? I can do that, although not a huge priority now, need knights outta the capital more.

this will be a pretty good city on the island once it grows. started the cottage on the flood plains this turn, other than that food and workshps.
I think this is our best/only choice available for heroic epic, currently. ill give the cottages to other cities (maybe even workshop over one of them??).
I dumped overflow to aesthetics, but kept our research at 0% to keep options open. Not sure what the best bet is, but aesthetics/lit/drama will help some, and is really cheap at this point.

I guess Lewwyn voted for Commodore before I took over.
Azza whipped 3 times (and founded a city, I guess) but they were all in the west, away from the front.
one was sarah jane. could be another longbow, or a knight. its probably a knight, which created a delimna. I had a worker finishing 2sw on baconator this turn. I needed the chop to rush a pike. it was covered by woodsman axe, who would no longer be in the woods, who I need to patrol jungle and keep scooter honest, and as an emergency military police in baconator. the square south of that as covered by a mace and a spear, which is a fine block against elephants and the chariot in sarah jane, but not good enough vs knights. (also spear needed on the hill) in the end I decided to let azza sacrifice a chariot to kill my worker, and keep all military units safe. the axe is retreating, the spear and mace moved to the staging hill, which now has a cat, 3 maces, and a spear. 1 square behind is a pike, mace, cho-ku, with another pike and chariot 1 turn behind that. im slowly buildin this feint while im bombard walls (defenses went from 12% to 24% in 1 turn - did azza slowbuild walls in beteen whips?).
I don't think I can take sarah jane. it occurs to me as soon as I move in the east (next turn) azza will realize his capital is safe and will be free to move his stack in Donna north. I'll have to retreat at that point and defend baconator. thats fine. it will keep that stack from coming south and east.

2 things
1. why are these 2 triemes defending seafood from barbs? azza is going to wish he had them in the east in a couple of turns
2. yuck, a second iron source. well I can hope scooter gets some culture there quick and overtakes it, third ring for azza. ok probably not. hopefully eventually ill be able to get something down there to pillage.
![[Image: ELJiFR5.png]](http://i.imgur.com/ELJiFR5.png)
we got vision on craig this turn. convenient. astrid only has an archer defending, craig a horse archer. astrid can whip but craig is only size 3. in 2 turns I'll most likely drop a knight and mace on astrid. I have 2 knights coming down, the first will join the main force but the second is one square from being able to do that in time, so its either defend amy or join the attack. should be able to take astrid in 3 turns, 1 turn before I assault captain jack.

main force and front. ok I have to go after jack first. it keeps reinforcements from Rose away, and allows me to hit martha later from the underside ona hill, also safer from rose reinforcements. next turn I move. if I move SE, S instead of SE, S then I can also have a knight join the turn before I strike. it will be exposed by itself for one turn, but its either a coinflip (c1 knight vs c1 knight) or I believe his elephant isn't promoted, which would give me very slight odds. if azza wants to take one of his knights out of the main battle for a coinflip ill take it.
now that I think about it azza is probably better off giving up jack with little resistance and putting up a bigger fight in martha, or maybe even evacuating the whole force to rose. we'll see.
my defending force in Amy. minus 1 mace next turn for the galley. If I need to I can pull a mace off the attacking force, but I probably won't. in 3 turns it can be reinforced with a pike and 3 knights.
what does azza have in the south? an elephant in jack, an axe in martha, and a chariot in the city to the south. plus 3 knights currently holed up in martha. he didn't whip this turn, and will undoubtedly whip one more time. 6 knights is possible, or he may go for a longbow in martha or jack (azza does like his longbows). we'll see, I think I've covered my bases though. maybe he can dry whip something more, im not sure.

whipped this forge this turn. I wonder if I can justify popping out a trieme here? I have 2 building on the island, but they will take a bit. no, probably need land units. ah well.

azza also whipped in rose, his capital. not sure where the third whipped city was, in the west somewhere.

I wish the turn would roll sooner. or at least azza could play an hour or so earlier. End up havng to stay up a little late to play. eventualy I'm going to end up having to go to bed and play the next day, delaying the gamee half a day.
Anyway, I'll make the lurkers a deal. I know you've probbly tuned out because Lewwyn couldn't report much lately. If I start to get feedback (especially from you, Qgqq) I'll do my best to keep reporting up to the levels I did for pb8. or at least for the rest of this war.
If I'm talking to myself its probably going to drop to pb9 levels - i.e., solid reports with pictures when I do report, but more like 1-2 a week than every day. Just gets boring without feedback .

feedback, feedback!
I'm totally lurking, and loving the reports... there's only so much lurkers can say, especially with regard to war turns.

Obviously you need to kill more things. We can say the same to Azza, right? After all, lurkers have no honor. But this also counts as feedback, therefore...report!
