I want to apply some robust interrogation techniques to Old Harry:
1st post he lists all players in the game and makes a joke about narrowing down his list of suspects. Easy way to make others think he's active at a glance, as there's a lot of text. Also trying to be helpful and asking others who he should scan. 2nd post is further discussion about his ability and game rules, and it ends with this little gem: Quote:And to give people something useful to go on I was going to vote MJW for overstretching to find a flaw in the meta, but that's in character, so I'll stay on the fence for now. unvoteThat's screaming fluff to me, wanting to appear active while not contributing. 3rd post parrots another post for buddy points, small comment about whether or not to lynch the mayor, idle speculation about the bot and a bit where he first calls Qg contradictory and then corrects himself with smiley faces. It ends with a completely unmotivated vote on Azarius. Obviously all of this is me reading bad intentions into his every move, but I do think it points slightly in the direction of scum. Specifically, wanting to appear active while not really posting anything of consequence.
Mandatory Bonus Duty ability usages must be posted in bold in the game thread by the end of the day. Since these are mandatory, if you fail to do so, then the GM will resolve things as he sees fit and offer punishment chastisement at his discretion (please don't make me do that).

Would be a little naive to think that Scum-Lewwyn would call out his scum buddies so obviously, so I don't think that's it. But it was still a little strange. Maybe he's just in a good mood, in which case I should try not to ruin it right awayThis is not unlikely scum play at all, trying to buddy up with villagers. He used that exact strategy (with good results, I'm sorry to report) on me the last game I played. Frankly, I was glad he was off my case for a change and didn't pursue him as much as I should have So I'm leaning slight scum on him for that, not enough to bother pressuring him yet.
Obviously not trying to buddy up to anyone. Simply stating what I saw.
novice feels scummy to me. And not because he's trying to say I'm scummy. More because the tone of his posts feel scummy (or 3rd party) to me.
“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”
Also you guys seem to be sure that I'm trying to buddy up to villagers. In which case you see them as villagers. In which case you're more likely scum. I have no clue whether Azarius and Zak are village or not. I simply stated I lean town on them for the reason I stated.
Every game I try to lead out by finding the person who's post I find most suspicous in the early posts, but this time nothing registered as particularly scummy so I led with the village lean I saw instead. Apparently it has had the same effect.

It doesn't matter whether we see them as villagers or not, what matters is that you did. Noone is sure either, it's been vague discussions. Why are you "obviously not trying to buddy up"? Seems to me like you're overreacting. What's worse, you're not frothing at the mouth trying to hang me, or at the very least call me an imbecile. I'm actually a little hurt by that (January 17th, 2014, 09:40)zakalwe Wrote: Strange post, Old Harry. I went through a whole bunch of other posts trying to find something scummy and couldn't (I didn't realise Q was joking until I'd pasted the quote and thought it'd be funnier to leave it in - although now I think of it making jokes in this game can be bad for your health), so I put down my thoughts and voted for someone who hasn't contributed much yet. Should I be trying less on day one? BTW Catwalk, how can Lewwyn be overreacting if he hasn't called you an imbecile yet?

Okay, I thought Catwalk's and Old Harry's explanation to assuming Zak and Azarius are town was along the line of my own thinking, that if Lewwyn is scum, he wouldn't call out his scum buddies like that. They did quote my post, after all. I'd imagine it would be pretty easy to just say that yeah, this is why I assumed they were town. But Catwalk did not do that, he avoided the question and says it doesn't matter. It's a pretty subtle thing, but I think a townie would just answer it truthfully, while scum might be more inclined to do what Catwalk did so that they don't have to lie about it.
