WW 31 Game Thread PARANOIA

You shouldn't be trying less, you should be trying more! Werewolf is a game of ingratitude hammer

But yes, trying less can sometimes be better if all you're posting amounts to fluff. Whether your suspicions are merited are not, you will generally earn town credit by at least making an effort to poke at people and see how they react. I understand the desire to discuss game rules (especially given that you have a public role), but talking too much about that can easily be seen as fluff.

As for Lewwyn calling me an imbecile, that's more of a friendship ritual. Like dogs sniffing each other's butts. Not insulting me is very scummy. Are you defending him?

Just checking in folks. We're having "Safety Day" here at work so instead of being on a web forum rather than working I'm messing with fire extinguishers rather than working wink

I've read pages 1-2 which is mostly fluff, but I'll read the rest of posts over lunch and then chime in when back.

They did quote my post, after all. I'd imagine it would be pretty easy to just say that yeah, this is why I assumed they were town. But Catwalk did not do that, he avoided the question and says it doesn't matter. It's a pretty subtle thing, but I think a townie would just answer it truthfully, while scum might be more inclined to do what Catwalk did so that they don't have to lie about it.
Say what now?

I forgot to mention that I will have limited time for the first two phases (Day 1 + Night 1).

Catwalk has already mentioned this post but the way in which he raised a topic for the lynch and then instantly dismissed it very scummy, as it raises a topic for the lynch (especially a mislynchable) and then dismisses it to remove his own part in it. It is first game however, and this and other posts do point to him being eager to contribute. Still, Old Harry.
On the other hand, he is a trusted officer of Friend Computer...unvote.

Quiet day so far...

As soon as I've read this post, I thought "Scum!". But then I stopped to think about it and realized it might just as well be a new player post. I think Old Harry is new in this parts, right? Anyway, I get the feeling from other threads that Old harry likes to really take part in the things he's taking part, so I guess this post fits with this. It also doesn't seem like he's trying to create content for the sake of it, it just feel like he wants to comment on things. Anyway, I decided to not point it out, to see how Old Harry would keep posting.

Would be a little naive to think that Scum-Lewwyn would call out his scum buddies so obviously, so I don't think that's it. But it was still a little strange. Maybe he's just in a good mood, in which case I should try not to ruin it right away lol

If anyone was going to try that tactic Lewwyn would be the one. More likely he's scum and buddying Zak (disguising with Az) or we should take him at face value as a good villager pointing out tells (that I'd have missed).

They are already random people (except me, I'm clean) so I wouldn't give them special treatment. If certain others were leader I'd be tempted to vote them to get them to give us something to work with, but I have a feeling Matt would just ignore it.

Could Imana-665-C's vote for BRick be a hint that this is a bastard GM game and we should lynch BRick? No? Okay how about Q for the contradiction here, where he suggests novice is inexperienced:

duh Okay, I get it now. lol

Azarius.

But people spotted this post too, Zakalwe and Catwalk. When this happened, I kind of leaned to think that Old harry's post was the perfect cover for wolves, because it's an easy case to make. With that in mind, I'll vote catwalk, since he made quite some effort to create a case, while Zakalwe was more contained about it.

Might as well add Qgq to the list of suspects...

All this talk of fluff and so much hostility already, in the setup thread! Brick, you better give us the map soon or this is all bound to turn ugly. I've also seen no mention of pick order yet, we going traditional snake or random civ/leader here? lol

At the risk of being accused of fluff I'm trying to figure out what the hell we do here. I gather that on day one you begin the process of trying to suss out who is town and who is scum, and without a whole lot to go on we have to read way too much intent from far too little text? And then lynch someone on scant evidence unless they do something so dumb as to make it obvious that they're scum the first day? But votes aren't required until the deadline, (which is....er...can someone convert that to US EDT for me?) so I guess we have more time for someone to try and out themselves before I cast an uninformed day one vote. This is totally not fluff, this is my first game playing, haven't lurked, trying to learn the ropes a bit.

So, in character (if the rest of that wasn't in character, I suppose), Catwalk is sure posting up a storm. Does that make him look guilty? And I'm a total WW noob, does that make me look guilty?

And I can't remember who it was who commented on Gazglum's excessive appearance of happiness/enthusiasm, but I think he's just role playing the happiness officer. That doesn't seem so bad to me.

Lovely cross-post Ichabod lol

I agree, the second post was what made me less suspicious of Harry there, especially after he explained it as his explanation was what I was expecting. However, the initial post felt to me much scummier, and I was surprised no-one but catwalk had picked up on it.
