I'm leaning Catwalk currently, as a read-through of the first half of the thread makes him sound very odd to me. For example, his case on Old Harry is extremely grasping at straws, including as it does a criticism of Harry's opening joke post, and his interplay with Lewwyn is also rather odd. I don't think I've played a game with Catwalk before, however, so I'm hesitant to jump to conclusions, especially given how lynchable he looks. Another that I can't help but find scummy is Spacetyrantxenu, but I'm not sure why that is, possibly his meandering writing style is reading like scum fluff. I dunno sorry. Q, you yourself were voting for Old Harry shortly after Catwalk did, you even cited his reason in your post. Why is his case now grasping at straws when you agreed with him before? (Which as Ichabod said is half of the game, especially so early in it imo.)
I didn't say there wasn't any merit to the case on Old Harry, my problem was in his grasping at straws in order to embellish it into a case. Old Harry's made a couple of weird posts, one of which caused me to vote him for a while, but the case that Catwalk made takes those as a foundation to a full-out case. On review it struck me as very much like what I often do as scum - choose a target who has made a few suspicious moves and then spin everything they've done against them, thus providing a lot of content and reads which help blend you in on a lynch. In particular, as I said above, the part about Old Harry's opening post, which is just ridiculously over-interpreted.
BTW, MJW's vig-gun comment is a reference to WW 19 and (probably) not pertaining to his real role.
I agree with Bobs read on MJW, although I consider it very likely he's running some sort of gambit with regard to his role.

I'm not running a gambit this time.
Getting hit by the vig is not so bad as you have two night-lives.
The vig-gun reference was something I thought about out of the top of my head but I wouldn't be surprised if I subconsciously used ww19 as an example.

I don't think I've played incredibly poorly bob my hinting about my role... Can you back up that statement somehow?
I don't care at all if I get scrubbed. I want roles to come to me and scrubbing only stops you from acting at night.

A bigger problem with you bob is that something that is "incredibly poorly" pretty much has to be "incredibly egregious". So you might be making stuff up and contradicting yourself.

If I'm a mafia bomb, mattimeo, then I really would not want the town to target me because a 1 to 1 or even a 2 to 1 trade would be great for the town at this point.
I want to put you under pressure because it would be really bad if you are a wolf. Your 1.23 votes don't matter right now but would matter at the end of the game.

Eh, maybe "incredibly" is a mild exaggeration. But I think if I had a village role which required village power roles to use their abilities on me I would either act discreetly until there was a good opportunity to claim (maybe to test a public seer claim or something, depending on how my own power worked), or, if my power was one which needed to be activated / charged / whatever ASAP, I would just state outright what my role was- safer than usual here, since you get an extra life. Telling everyone that your power needs villagers to use their powers on you has almost all the risks of just outright role-claiming (making yourself a target and putting fellow villagers at risk if there's like a wolf watcher or something similar lurking about), but being vague about it makes it tough for people to trust you. That said, I don't want you to outright role-claim at this point because even if people know what your power needs (this is all obviously assuming you are telling the truth & a villager), there is very likely still value in keeping the exact nature of your abilities a secret, at least for now. But I'm not sure you'll actually get many people using night abilities on you.

There is no contradiction- by egregious I meant something really inexcusably dumb, like my behavior in that game where I got lynched as a villager on Day 1 for posting nothing but nonsense quotes from Alan Wake :P Like intentionally suicidal behavior which jeopardizes the village, who would be better off even if the lynched player is a villager. Poor play by comparison is obnoxious and lamentable but not necessarily outright harmful.

And Azza's reason for voting for MJW is really lame. MJW is "playing it up for the crowd"? Why would that help a wolf? What does that even mean? And voting for anyone for being "meta-crazy" is just a terrible rationale. Half of my posts here have been meta-crazy, and you apparently liked those!
MJW is known for being batshit insane. It looks to me like he's trying too hard to maintain his completely insane persona. I didn't say that I liked your posts; it was meant to be that your reasoning behind your no lynch was good enough for me not to instantly vote you for suggesting no lynch.

Normally I find no lynch suggestions to be suspicious, but Bob makes a decent case for it. Still not going to vote for it, but I'm not going to vote for Bob because of it either.
MJW seems to be more meta-crazy than usual, like he's playing it up for the crowd.
I'm sorry Azza but I have to call BS on this. I've done far more insane things then this for example my baner keywords exploit in ww2, me trying to kill gaspar for using hidden mode in wwCiv and me lying about my scrys as a seer. I think your a wolf making stuff up.
I don't remember any of those examples. Your argument reinforces my vote against you, because I wasn't accusing you of doing crazy things, I was accusing you of making yourself look crazy. Revisiting crazy things you've done is just another example of you falling back on your crazy reputation.

That has to be some long time ago and your first description didn't ring a bell, but that one does.

The bolded parts make not much sense Bob. First you state that you would outright claim such a role and then you state that he should not because there is very likely value in keeping the role secret. But if there is value in keeping it secret now, there was value in keeping it secret from the start.
For me this feels like you write what you think others would expect from you, not what you really believe. And that normally happens to scum-players that pursued a target and suddenly realize they have to change direction as the pursued one doesn't get as much heat as they thought. Happened to me (with MJW as target funnily enough...) in one of the recent games we played.

I don't think your assessment of MJW is correct. He does plays that I find insane quite often, but in the few last games we played on RB with him involved he did never come across as crazy imo - his ideas and plays yes, but not he himself. He seemed very aware of the situation and how to use it best. Imo he showed pretty good play - not insane ramblings. Therefore I don't think he needs to maintain some "insane persona".
And honestly, I think you should know that.

So why is he a raving lunatic so far today?
