I still find your early posts suspicious, but that suspicion will wane if you post more actual contributions and less fluff. I do think that your posts were more fluffy than the rest, yes. In particular, your post where you first promised to give us something to go on and then pointed out that you didn't. I'm not married to a vote on you, but I'm very surprised at how much suspicion I got for voicing those suspicions.

I don't like the bolded part...

I cannot see anything thing wrong with it. It might be because I hate lurkers and so really like it when people say to 'spam it up'.

Guys, do you think it's plausible that azza doesn't know what I'm talking about? If it's true his play is not that wolfish... But I don't think it is.

Like this isnt how scum Azza worked back in the ww we played together in. I honestly am not sure who to vote. Feels like wild accusation's everywhere. I am kinda surprised you guys didn't choose a single person to gang up on yet :P

Scum Azza wouldn't fight that hard and argue this much that early. I think he wouldn't try to gather attention unless hes changed since then.

First you state that you would outright claim such a role and then you state that he should not because there is very likely value in keeping the role secret. But if there is value in keeping it secret now, there was value in keeping it secret from the start.

Well, I said role-claiming immediately was one option, the other being keeping quiet. It would really depend on the nature of the power. I could list different possible powers and in what situations keeping quiet would make sense vs. claiming early, but I'm not sure how that helps anyone and I think you know this game well enough to imagine scenarios on your own. I don't want MJW to openly claim now because I can think of yet more situations where not doing so is the best play, and I don't want to try to force him into a mistake. Do you feel any differently? I stand by what I wrote, assuming MJW is both village and telling the truth about what his power requires, his middle approach between roleclaiming and secrecy has bought him distrust and possibly danger, which means it was a suboptimal choice from his various options if his goals are A: get village powers used on him, and B: not die.

Except I haven't been pursuing any targets until I voted for Azza (in one of the same posts you're criticizing where I gave my thoughts on MJW) because I think his case against MJW is incredibly lightweight and reeks of a Day 1 "safe" vote. And right now I'm keeping my vote on him.

This is much harder than it looks from the sidelines (it is my first game novice). First up I have some thoughts that are fluff and can be skipped if you don't like that sort of thing. I'm mostly just writing them to get them straight in my head and in the hope that you'll point out where I'm wrong:
- I'd like Imana-665-C to be Gaspar, so he gets to join in with the game without all the pain of defending himself. But I'd expect a whole lot more text from him, so I assume it's Brick and that he's got an automated way of making him vote so that he doesn't unfairly influence the game.
- Bob's secondary idea of having vigs hold their fire overnight seems interesting whether or not we lynch. If the wolves use their shot(s) it would mean a confirmed villager or a wounded wolf. The confirmed villager could be a great asset to the village. A wounded wolf would need to be a bit careful not to get themselves mixed up in anything over the next couple of days but would be terrible for the village. If the wolves don't use their shot(s) then that's great for town. At first it seems like this is a good idea - although the prospect of a part-cleared wounded wolf really shoots it in the foot (I know I'm paraphrasing what someone else said, but I wanted to get the logic sorted out for myself). I think this does give Bob a bit of a scum tell.
- Would a possibility for MJW be that he is unvisitable scum, so using up power roles on him is bad for the village. If he's unvisitable village then he'd be better trying to get himself nightkilled by scum. Of course there are a bunch of other possibilities too.
- I think Xenu is floundering about as much as I am. lol We just need to find someone to sheep...

Azarius posted some more today - nothing groundbreaking, but nothing suspicious either, so since I'm not finding novice scummy or 3rd party (I think he just wasn't paying a lot of attention at the start) I'll go for Lewwyn, who is posting up a storm, but they mostly seem empty (pot meet kettle...) and is just a bit too happy, as if he's rolled scum and is really up for a game.

ps - can I have a link to get the latest version of novice's tool?

I'm not lazy scum, I'm busy town. smile Yesterday I went to a party (no, not that kind of party...) and today has been very hectic. I'll try to catch up properly now.

Gazglum, Merovech didn't post anything more after I voted for him, so that's why my vote stayed on him. Those musings you refer to are just me thinking out loud, which I think is a good way to play as a villager.
If you know what I mean.

(January 17th, 2014, 17:29)MJW (ya that one) Wrote: I'm not trying to imply my power-role. How could you guess my role from what information I gave you? I'm just saying that it would be nice if I were targeted because of my role.

No way I'm going down that rabbit hole smile I think it's clear though that it only makes sense to request to be the target of other power roles if one has a certain type of power themselves. Anyways, I think implying one's power is bad-ish town but not necessarily scummy, the worry comes from your ability to camouflage actions that would be useful to scum via your well documented meta-love. (EDIT from further down the thread @Azarius - what I'm trying to say is MJW's history may allow him to get away with an 'obvious' baiting trap).

Bob commented on this too. Speaking of Bob I'm glad the no-lynch discussion seems to have moved on. Maybe I'm missing some of the nuance in the argument, but as good as the wolves seem to be on RB these days at disguising their voting pattern, I still think having the day 1 voting record is way more valuable then the benefits of not lynching.

Wacky happy-go-lucky vacation Lewwyn is fun, but he doesn't like my MJW vote. @Lewwyn - All I'm getting at is MJW is the only person I noticed who partially claimed a hidden role. I know it's his nature and I know what he said wasn't an explicit claim. But it jumped out at me as an immediate difference than other posts, and then MJW's first response focused on denying whether he was suggesting anything about his role, which I think is the one thing that he clearly did do. My understanding is early we're supposed to look for lies and/or inconsistencies, and 90% of the players just understandably haven't said much on day 1.

Still though, I'd like to change my vote because:

1) There were 2-3 other "easy" votes on MJW at one point or another, and that seems dangerous to tag along with this early.
2) MJW's posts are unique and could easily be misunderstood.
3) I don't like MJW's posting style, and that probably makes me biased against him which I'm trying to be conscious of.

Given that, I don't want to tunnel on MJW (or Old Harry who was my earlier suspicious read), but I need to vote someone. I'll have better availability to follow the thread today, so I'm very open to switching my vote, I've just not yet seen a more compelling case and I want to commit to voting for what I feel is most suspicious.

PS - Zak is my pick among the skilled vets. But he has one town leaning point IMHO and that's probably enough for the benefit of the doubt even though he also has several posts I didn't like.

Harry, I explained already how the "voting-bot" obviously voted to make a joke. That pretty much makes certain that it is not just some automated voting. I further would not expect it to be BRick (I really don't see how you would include such a role without putting yourself heavily into fire from both sides for influencing the vote, even if you don't vote for the top target at the end). That pretty much leaves it as a second vote for someone.

Now, thinking about that a little bit, I suspect that it is a second wolf vote. Reasoning being that - as someone pointed out already - we would win in a equal number-situation, which together with the clones makes the game very hard for the wolves. The basically either have to always go for the leader with their kill (which obviously is bad in a role madness game) or they will need to survive one more day than normally, which in an equal number-situation is quite hard.

Of course I might be wrong and BRick might just get rid of the leader-role down the line or might accept that it can randomly push the game towards town or wolves. But with the information we have so far at least the first conclusion about the "bot" seems near certain with the second being imo around 60%* likely.
