This is interesting, though -- Is there anything in the rules that says we can't vote to lynch the voting-bot just to make sure it isn't a wolf? Or would Brick just roll out another one?

xenu, the point is not that you ask, not the content itself, but the way you do it. It seems very much deliberately using your noob-ness as a "lynch-prevention" tool. Which is contradicting itself obviously because if you were truly a noob chances are that you wouldn't think about "lynch-prevention" - or even if you did, would not play it up additionally.

(Of course, you might just be happy. We are not used to happy tyrants ).

I thought emphasizing self preservation was a classic noob-tell? Being able to detach your own survival from that of the village is pretty hard to do and has led to a lot of shouting matches over the years...

MJW, in post 41 you were annoyed noone had thought wolfs don't win on ties but there aren't any ties because of the team leader, which you seemed fully aware of. Is that a contradiction or have I just understood you wrong?

I've already very efficiently ruled out one troubleshooter and will narrow it down further during the compulsorily recommended period.

Just to kick-start the meta-discussion, it looks like my Loyalty Officer power is public, so I might as well ask for recommendations of who to scan and why...

And write this about it:

1st post he lists all players in the game and makes a joke about narrowing down his list of suspects. Easy way to make others think he's active at a glance, as there's a lot of text. Also trying to be helpful and asking others who he should scan.

At least to me that is ridiculous over-interpretation. It was, as you acknowledge, a joke, and the idea that he copied the player list to make himself appear active is simply ridiculous. I would be surprised if you do actually believe it, as it seems to me like you added it simply to embellish the case, making it appear longer and more analytical then it actually is. This is not to say I disagree with your other points, but this one feels suspicious.
Oh and don't talk about patterns, as you didn't mention that once during your case. Yes you mentioned that he'd posted some fluff in others, but the crux of your accusations lay in his odd voting and posting fluff in ones first post of the game is practically a tradition.

I even stressed myself that my assessment was based on a worst case scenario, explaining how it all adds up to fluff. It can certainly be newbie fluff, it can also very certainly be newbie wolf fluff. The last post is what made me lean towards the latter option. What else are we supposed to do one day one if not bring attention to what we perceive as suspicious patterns?

Indeed. However compared to some players he hasn't been posting much fluff, with his very first post attempting to raise the topic of his public ability (although I agree that this isn't something that should be discussed).

I don't see how I've been flip-flopping. I found a post by Harry suspicious and voted him (this was his second post). He explained this adequately and nothing further came out. Later I re-read the first half of the thread, and noticed that your case was very weak and the tone of your posts were odd, and voted you. Its not that I suddenly find Harry very townish, its simply that I find you scummy, and one of the reasons for that is how you made your case on Harry. Capish?

And I don't understand your definition of blending in, leading the torch on a target is everything but blending in. If anything, more cautious posts like zakalwe's (at the same time as mine) is blending in. We both found Harry suspicious, I got accused for my posts while zakalwe has passed by without suspicion. I'm not saying I find zakalwe suspicious (based on other posts), but that's how I'd voice a suspicion if my objective was to blend in.

Perhaps I'm imposing how I play scum on others, but the way I played in '27 was to take a target who has made some genuinely suspicious posts and look at everything they had said that could be interpreted negatively, going in great depth over all their posts. This is a good tactic for scum because it shows you as scum-hunting and can lead the lynch towards that target by taking a few suspicious things they have said and then casting all their posts in a negative light to make them a genuine lynch candidate. I don't recall mentioning blending in, but it would relate to how your posts can appear like active scum-hunting without a great deal of effort, or possibly also you attempting to blend in with your village persona (I don't recall playing with you, but I presume this is how you usually play, and thus you would need to blend in with that).

Qg, my case was that he posted nothing but fluff. I do not stress his first post in any way, I stress the others. I do not find his first post the most incriminating either, you're putting words in my mouth. I do stress his second and third post, both because of the non-vote thing and for wanting to talk about his ability. Would you rather we sit around making vague comments on day one? There isn't a lot to go on, let's dig into what we do have and not lynch people for investigating.

Catwalk I agree with novice on your most recent posts. You writing that you have a suspicion that would be easy to change is a big blip on the scumdar, because it sound a lot like you giving a very soft suspicion that you have easy license to switch off at lynchtime.
