And now I just blew up the map I'd rolled lol Turns out that choosing which tech the player is researching in a particular field without that field being open yet is a BAD idea...

Note to players: The variant rules Catwalk sent me by PM differ in a couple of respects from each of the variations posted in this thread, so please don't start playing the save until the opening thread is posted with the complete rules (probably in a few hours' time).
