WW 31 Game Thread PARANOIA

I think scum have two kills a night that kill one clone each and that way it evens out to one full kill a night over two nights. I don't think this setup has a 3rd party or SK.
That would make sense.
Still probably slightly weaker than the normal process, as this gives protective roles priority targets - namely, those who are actually capable of being eliminated in a given night.

Of course, as with everything, you can metagame the hell out of the situation ^_^
(I mean, they clearly hit one of their own who has a power that allows them to identify anyone who visits them of a night, meaning that anyone who tries to save a poor unfortunate who's in danger of being eliminated by the commie traitors is going to be first in line for future traitorous murder-sprees)

Do you mean you enquired with Brick and he sent you an explanation?
Having heard nothing, I enquired with BRick concerning what being given such an item actually entailed. He responded in line with the rules set forward regarding item distribution by the Equipment Guy, namely:

That player will from then on possess that item and use it during any night phase at their discretion. The player recieving the item will learn whether it's an item to use on another player, or on themselves.
<snip>
You may not learn what the item is before it is used, that's why you're testing the items in the first place!
So, I enquired with BRick, and he sent me targeting schematics. External scheduling resulted in my not obtaining said targeting schematics until the night had concluded.

Okay, I'm caught up. I'm glad that we caught a scum and I'm pissed (though I understand) that my title was revoked. I just wanted to clean Quebec. Well, friend computer knows best.

Anyway, some thoughts:
I don't find the run on Qgqqqq to be incredibly suspicious, since while reading, Q appeared much more suspicious to me than Azza. zakalwe is less suspicious than he was before bEcuase he started to explain what he was saying. I still find Sunrise suspicious for the reasons I mentioned earlier, though not nearly as much as the following people, who have shot up in scumminess: Q, , Catwalk, and Ryan.

Ryan appears scummy to me becuase his defense against Jowy's legitimate accusations was basically "I don't like what you're saying so I'm going to ignore it," and rational responses to accusations is, IMO, really important. It's a bad precedent to set, and the last time that I said that in relation to this game, I was very, very right.

I really didn't like catwalk and Q's discussion, both sides seemed to make some jumps. When I get home or in the morning, I'll give some specifics. It's hard to quote an search on my phone.

I have a few other suspicions, but nothing very strong.

I think that BobCW is pretty villagery right now. I've liked a lot of his arguments, and even the one with which I disagreed (no lunch day one) was well reasoned and he didn't stick to it to anyone's detriment.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Catwalk, Q, and Ryan all seem normal/village to me. Just because they don't explain themselves well does not mean they are scum. It just means they are lynchbait. Jowy is it that boat, however he's being more scummy than those three.

Mero prove to me that you're no fool, walk across my swimming pool.

I bring this up because Serdoa's response is this This post does not make as much sense to me because I thought Bob's points that Serdoa attacks were valid. I think Serdoa is attacking Bob because Azza is under fire. He then tells Azza he should know better about MJW, but doesn't vote for him. Instead in the end he votes for Qg against Azza. To sum up Serdoa attacks Azza's attackers while shading Azza for cover and when that doesn't work he votes against Qg at the end of the day.

I think Serdoa is possible scum and should be on the block today.

Lewwyn, you disagree with me on the point against Bobs post, though you never said so on D1. So forgive me, but I've only got people agreeing with me on that point till now suddenly you come along and don't agree, right when it fits your case. Maybe you simply didn't care before and it just now seems like it all fits in the big picture for you, but the matter of fact is that I'm not the only one who hat that issue with Bobs post. And forgive me again, but Bob did first say MJW should have claimed right away to then state (in the same post) that he should not claim now. That - without his further explanations which came only later - made no sense for me. smile

For the other part: Yes, you are right. As I explained earlier already. I thought Azza to be village. Point. I made an error. Happens, even to me, sometimes. Not often in my case, I give you that, but often enough that it shouldn't be a complete surprise. In all seriousness: Yes, I was wrong on him. I can't change that anymore. We can go back and forth on this point but I can't change it and there is no further explanation for my votes. I could lie something about a great scheme and that I wanted to see with my few minutes before deadline vote who would jump on it together with me, but that's simply not true. The truth is that I was suspicious of Q (as can be seen in an earlier D1-post from me) and didn't believe Azza to be a wolf so whom to vote for was easy for me. smile

That said: I can prove that I didn't try to kill any of you two (Lewwyn, Ryan) tonight, though given the likely amount of scum that probably isn't really saying much and with everyone having a role it isn't anything special either I guess. Still, if required I will do so. But in the end either you trust what I wrote above - and that I would have a better story available was I scum - and let me play the game and hopefully find some wolves or you lynch me. smile

Last point: Lewwyn, I understand that you want to get me lynched. That's unfortunately for you the same as for me, it's the thrill if you can bring down the hardest of prey. In this case though you are wrong. Look at least at others as well, even if you are set to vote for me in the end. Don't waste this day. smile

I don't think there's been any shift in my behavior where I suddenly started explaining myself - I think I've been doing that all along. Sounds like revisionism to me.

No, I won't. I'm not dead yet.

I have no intention of wasting this day. Just waiting for people to post before I move onto my higher suspicions. You are about 3rd or 4th on my list, however you still are on my suspect list so I have to I wanted to start with you to see what people thought. Basically starting with you is an effort not to waste this day.

Serdoa, read novice's posts and tell me what you think. He only has 16, 3 of which are post totals. Most of them are quotes with one-liners. Basically it should not take you long at all to read them. Tell me if you can tell who he suspects and if you can get a read on him.

Merovech

Zak I can get behind this vote based on the suspicious-ness of Mero's choice of suspects.

How about this:

Bold is mine. But notice the extra comma? Like he edited out a suspect from his list?

Mero who was it?
