WW 31 Game Thread PARANOIA

(January 20th, 2014, 08:45)Serdoa Wrote: You are pissed about the idea to confirm with BRick if a claim is true or not. And as I told zak, I understand being against it, but the way you react, via a snide remark and sarcasm, is what puts me off. smile

Okay, framed like that I see where you're coming from, I guess. I'm not pissed about that idea, but I will concede that I am annoyed that people fail to understand the basic principles of GM'ing. That's something that's accumulated over time. Maybe my remark was more snide and less humorous than I intended.

At any rate, it's not related to my alignment in this game.

Jowy, the point is that you shouldn't assume it's a lie just because the GM doesn't confirm or deny it. It's not his place to do that. So either you are trying to extort information from the GM, which is inappropriate, or you are trying to exploit his mistake to get MJW lynched, which is scummy. I don't know if it's the latter or the former, but probably the former.

Serdoa, I wish you'd find another angle of attack here. Also, you should revote Novice, because Mafia Helper didn't recognize your first vote for some reason.

On an unrelated note, there really is something fishy about Lewwyn.

You yourself are assuming that Ryan was targeted by scum, Lewwyn. So why would it be unthinkable for you to target him?

Not sure what to do about it if even if we think that Lewwyn is scum, because we might be able to rely on someone killing him in the night. But this feels a lot like Lewwyn the SK all over again.
If you know what I mean.

Because Rowain named 3 players that he wanted to stick the discussion to? It shouldn't matter if that actually happens, more important imo is how it came across. And for me it came across as if he tried to narrow the discussion down even before the day started. That should raise alarm-bells for everyone imo. At least for every villager. smile

And before we go through those motions again: Yes, I play differently. I don't see how pointing that out, not giving any examples, stating that you can't think of anything yourself but others gave good examples, which you can't remember, is doing a whole lot. That sounds for me like "We really should not forget Serdoa because!". smile

Never mind, I had forgotten to update the script.

We should not forget you at all. You were one of those who tried a lastminute push to save Azza and get Qg lynched and that at a rather late hour.

But for the moment I would like to push Azarius a bit.

But if MJW is town and speaking the truth, then he never lied, but was fucked over by the GM messing up, and could get killed by no fault of his own if we collectively choose to lynch liars in this game. I'm just assuming that if GM makes mistakes, then he corrects them and owns up to it, because that's what has happened every single time GM has made a mistake in a past game I've been a part of. I'm willing to let it go since I've got experienced players telling me I'm in the wrong, but I gotta admit I don't get it.

If the GM makes a mistake, someone gets screwed over. C'est la vie.

If the deadline was right now, I would be happy to lynch Old Harry. But as he hasn't posted anything today, and should be feeling the pressure anyway, I'll try to wipe that smile off Serdoa's face. smile

Novice could still be a good lynch, since he's been a bit passive, even if I dislike the latest line of attack. And we really need to hear from those who haven't voted yet.

Lets see if I can head off your big post before you make it Lewwyn.

(January 19th, 2014, 14:29)Old Harry Wrote: For the former I didn't really have time to get my thoughts together, but they were that I don't think Catwalk is scum and I thought Azza had just got caught up with the normal MJW-argument and was a null tell. Q was more suspicious than either and I'll probably vote him again if he's on the block tomorrow. The "I'm going to regret this" was because I've really got no idea if Q is scum or not and if he isn't and I jumped on at the last moment I'd spend even more time having to defend myself tomorrow...

Is this the same as saying that you think Q is currently most likely to be scum? It seems odd to pencil in a hypothetical like that so soon, not knowing who else might be a suspect.

My reading is mostly based on tone, he hasn't done anything that sticks out to me as village, but I struggle to critisise anything past his argument with Catwalk. I think other people have said more scummy things now though, so it depends who else is up for the lynch. I could be getting influenced by others reading his WW27 style. Let's say I have a scum lean for now.

(January 20th, 2014, 03:22)Gazglum Wrote: What is it you don't like about SUnrise? And why did you wait so long to shift your vote from the robot?

I didn't like post 269 as it almost says "I'm trying to keep my head down here". I was hoping that BRick would post an official tally to confirm or deny if the robot was votable (as my only original thought of the day I was hoping to be of at least some value). When I realised I had a chance to save someone I thought was town (Azza) I felt the adrenaline and went straight for that cliff...

To summarise my day one: I flip-flopped a bit, tried to manufacture an original thought, found something that I thought would be useful info before realising it probably wasn't and finally sheeped novice and Azarius who seemed to know what they were doing. None of it was helpful to town so I won't spend too much time trying to defend the indefensible. I guess the best argument in my defense is that when I flip town you won't get much information.

On the chances of Novice, Azarius, Serdoa, Gaz and me being scum I don't understand why scum would push Q when Catwalk was right behind Azza at the point novice started the bandwagon, so either the early Q wagon is villagery or Catwalk is a more powerful role than strongman (is there one?) That doesn't help me much. rolleye

Old Harry, that defense is so terrible it's almost a town tell. I'd rather have your unoriginal, truthful thoughts than manufactured original ones. And your flip would provide a lot of information, unfortunately for you.

Several people pointed out how Brick's opening posts explicitly stated that the robot couldn't be voted for. Why did you ignore that?
(This post states it, and it was posted by Brick while the thread was closed.)
