Had to go in a little earlier than originally anticipated due to the snow. Went ahead and ended turn without attacking. Also left the skirm in place near the cap.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Nothing like the Prodigal Sons: The Odd Couple actually play as themselves.

Our luck in this game (pure shit, basically) means 71.9% is not good enough odds to risk. We lose on the hammer exchange with that level of risk, so I'm glad you didn't attack. The consequences of losing are too high, IMO.
don't attack. Gavagai will probably move south, allowing Contra's axe to kill him. Or he'll sit there until the spear clears off and try to occupy the hill, allowing Contra's axe to kill him.
t72 - Maybe we should have gone with a Conquistador theme?
So three main thrusts this turn, only two of which I have pictures of. 1. Barb Warrior moved to Wheat, Barb Warrior died. 2. Oracle done and we have at least a coinflip shot at it. 3. Gavagai's warrior moved away and we've got the road done, so we attack Burgundian in 2 turns. <look at last turns picture, sorry> In other news, Gavagai completed Priesthood. He's teching Writing, no doubt following with CoL next. The game could be an interesting referendum on Mints vs. Sacrificial Altars IF HE DIDN'T HAVE SUCH A HUGE FOOD ADVANTAGE AT HIS CAPITAL. Someone birthed the first GP of the game, a Great Scientist. For comparisons sake, we completed Writing at EOT71. I'm guessing that's one of the SP guys, probably Mikehendi. Or the Stonehenge guy, can't remember who we pegged that for - ad hoc IIRC? Definitely not Gavagai, at least. We also decided to tech Fishing instead of Math, partly motivated by the seafood at Burgundian and "want" and partly motivated by us currently working a bare riverside grassland at the cap when we could be working a lake. Plame also benefits slightly by Fishing, so we at least could work a tile that provided some value if we ever grew to size 5. There are a lot of lakes in our empire, you know, SO GAVAGAI CAN GET EXTRA VISION ON ALL OF OUR CITIES. I'm pretty sure Gavagai is sleeping with Serdoa.

He might also have captured the barb city. I'll be able to check in a bit.

So yeah, the barb city still stands.

Well, that's good news #2 of the turn. He didn't plant in our face, I hope. No need to reply, I'll patiently wait for the turn report.
Nah, I didn't see anything. I'm concerned that Confucianism will found in Beryllium though, but nothing we can do about it at this point.
Also, we screwed up last turn by not giving the flood plains back to the capital and working forests instead at Plame. Ah well.

t73 - Finally something went right
No shot of the Oracle being completed, but here's the city: We took Metal Casting and started on a Mint in Whiskey Ring which we will whip to completion next turn: As suggested above, Gavagai planted Carbon somewhere. No idea where. Here's a shot of the north if anyone espies it: Other than that, the big news is the advance on Burgundian: And here's the demo situation. I'll try and type a more coherent "state of the game" post next turn, once we see what happens at the Barbarian city.
