where he's positioned he can only attack if I capture sarah Jane (1 movers anyway), so no. he played his turn in about 5 minutes, he's not putting too much thought into it.

next turn is the staging turn for assault, so this was staging for the staging turn.

bah. expected. I have a fresh trieme in BaconBacon. it only produces 28 hammers per turn. but thanks to a 1 pop whip for lots of overflow, and revolting to caste, I was able to produce hammers out of the air - so I'll 1 turn a trieme this turn and next. hopefully Azza advances for the other nets and I can hit him w/ 3 trimes and kill his navy.

I considered delaying a turn to clara instead of pillaging the iron. But 2 movers from rose can hit the spot I'd need to move to, but not the iron.

so next turn I'll move a massive stack (minus knights) onto the forest square, along w/ 2 workers. I'll post my stack and Azza's stack then. I haven't decided if I'm going to advance the assault at that point onto the hill or wait for more reinforcements, yet. I might delay everything a turn just to get more troops in place, or delay this front 3-4 turns for more reinforcements. every turn I wait makes me stronger vs. Azza, but the longer the war goes on the weaker I am vs. Scooter. Its a dilemna.

accepted from Ichabod, along w/ map trade in separate deal. Don't urgently need silk but we have an abundance of dye.

Azza positioned to hit either seafood w/ his navy. lucky the trieme from the north was able to cover the fish. I left the clams uncovered to bait azza. if he moves there I can hit his stack w/ all 3 triemes from BaconBacon and wipe out the navy. I need the threat eliminated so BaconBacon can start producing land units again. I was a bit paranoid about an army in the galley so I moved a cat and warrior BAcon (leaving it temporarily ungarrisoned). along w/ the archer in baconBacon it can't be captured even w/ great luck.

I moved into place in the east/iron and towards Sarah Ann. But I held off one turn on Rose.

I could only move 14 1 movers onto the forest tile. next turn I can move 17 (mostly maces and pikes, a few axes), and up to 6 cats and 6 knights. I'll also have 2 more knights and 1 more cat available for counter attack the following turn.

I will probably go ahead with the other 2 phases next turn. I don't think I'm ready to assault Rose at all. need more time to build up. probably 8-10 more units, and a lot more collateral units frown. But I can move to the forest to hope Azza makes a mistake. Feels like the only win I can have is to take control of Sarah Ann, though, in the short time, and stall long enough to get a navy south of Azza.

azza decided to kill the lone trieme. he sarificed his trieme and crippled his galley to do so. So, hopefully he pillages the fish so I can nail him, otherwise it will be cat and mouse for a bit. but the other 2 triemes can go south and strart to clear the way for an island invasion. that'll be around 10 turns from now :/

I suspected last turn this might be the case. so global lurkers, if Azza posted a picture of this area already you knew my feint was pointless, haha. I'm sure Scooter and Pindicator were scratching their heads. no worry, I was able to get the knights back into the Sarah Ann region quickly. the pike will move to bakon to defend from Scooter, allowing another pike to go into the fray quicker. the mace is unpromoted and not too essential, so he'll stay in raiders for a bit to keep tabs and make sure Azza doesn't try to mine it.

I guessed it because Azza has only been building cats the past few turns. but its nice to know we won't be seeing more knights soon, or any pikes.

The big news:
I drained Sarah Ann of its garrison!

I really got quite lucky here! After sacrificing 2 cats, all 3 cho-kus won, with odds of 22%, 41%, and 50.6%! taking out 8 units at the cost of 2 cats seems worth it smile

I left him w/ just a chariot. I could have moved 4 pikes, a spear, a chariot, and a mace in if I took the city. But he can strike w/ 6 cats, 3 knights, 3 HA, and 3 elephants. It would have been a slaughter. By capturing next turn, I can move all this stack +1 more pike and 3 more knights, plus more reinforcements coming later.

If I'm Azza I just abandon the city now and focus on defending Donna. If he instead decides to fill the city and try to hold it, even better. I want as much combat as possible on this front to attrition his units (especially cats) away from Rose.

I delayed moving to the forest tile another turn, hehe, to see how he reacts to Sarah Ann. I learned one thing from this - cho-kus are just awesome. we currently have 0 in the south, so I'm building them everywhere I can to fix that problem. I need, like 10 of them. the problem w/ moving on Rose is keeping collateral. he can hit me w/ cats then flank away the cats. but he can't flank cho-kus. w/ enough cho-kus and knights I can assault rose even with the 60% cultural defense.
