For now I'm voting Rowain.

I understand that there are other strong candidates out there, but I think it's pretty clear that Rowain was making a specific and confident village claim for Serdoa that he's now backing way off of. I can understand not wanting to confirm a seer role, but at this point the claim already has lots of attention. What I see is Rowain desperate to save Serdoa and then immediately distancing himself from the claim, while Serdoa is now defending Rowain himself and even giving him items way before the deadline. They're both strong vet players, so it may be too obvious to think they're a 2-man faction of some kind, but I do suspect the game setup has multiple scum factions, and I'm as yet unsold of a town interpretation for Rowain's behavior vis a vis Serdoa.

I'll again be online at the deadline. If a Rowain lynch isn't happening (or if Rowain provides some answers in the thread) I'll switch to Bob or Gazglum to make my vote count.

I have not been following the Serdoa & Rowain drama as closely as I probably should, but the issue is that Rowain is, and has been, really sure of Serdoa's innocence without giving a satisfactory explanation, right? Since generally you wouldn't advocate leaving someone alone for 4 days just because they gave you a case of the Good Vibes. I think asking Rowain to role reveal, even if you're pretending like you're not asking him to role reveal when you ask him to role reveal, is a lousy idea, for reasons I already gave when talking about myself. But perhaps he'd be a good target for Ryan- if Rowain has a kill ability, that should bring up all sorts of red flags, since not only would that be another vig-claim if he says he's village, but also a vig's power wouldn't clear Serdoa in any way.

I think it may be as simple as Rowain buddying up to Serdoa for items, regardless of both of their alignment. It's obviously working, and I'll admit to no small amount of jealousy that there's been a lump of coal in my stocking

@Bob - Your understanding basically matches mine, but two other things bother me. 1) Serdoa defending Rowain and now giving him an item, and 2) Rowain apparently playing dumb. I'm not demanding he claims, but I also don't understand why he's circumspect about how strong his original vouching for Serdoa was.

Had he simply said 'I understand that I gave a strong endorsement, and what that implies, but I have my reasons for only sharing that much and no more' or something of that like I'd find the situation much more believable.

@Catwalk - But if it's simply buddying up then Rowain is all but lying. He clearly suggested he had insider info with how he formulated his request. If you're confident there are better lynches today and even tomorrow that doesn't mean you insist someone go unlynched for 5 days.

Wouldn't a Ryan scan resolve most of this drama? If Rowain can't kill, he can't be a SK, he can't be a Commie, that leaves... non-killing 3rd-party player I guess. Which is possible, in that Planetfall game I love to bring up I was half of a two-man team, and only my partner Selrahc had the kill ability. But not incredibly likely either. If he *can* kill, then things are more interesting.


But my point is, we can probably afford to put this aside for a day.

Explain this to me. A scan reveals if he's probably village or scum (although not 100% either way), a role reveal... could be a lie if he's scum, and if he's village gives away a lot of data. I mean there's more than one village role which could make him trust Serdoa, right?
