WW 31 Game Thread PARANOIA

This game is exhausting. I just read like 300 posts (and need to leave work now lol ).

So we have Bob and Gazglum as vigilantes or serial killers or (insert defense here ______). I had been reading Bob as village until today but now I'm not s sure. I do like his sanitizing himself, maybe it's just a delaying tactic but it at least removes the threat for today. But Gazglum having to kill.... eek That feels like it has the potential for a lot of friendly fire. Easy there, Raiden! I can support lynching Gazglum to eliminate the threat because every night he's alive, someone's losing a clone. And that someone is more likely to be village than not.

To be honest, though, this business with Rowain concerns me more right now than Gazglum -- there's something missing here and we really need to know more about his power, or what he's up to. The Serdoa super-BFFness is really strange to me and I didn't trust Serdoa to begin with. I just don't see how both of them can be so sure the other is town. Maybe I missed a lot skimming these posts so quickly but something doesn't add up there.

Oh, my communications officer post: Friend Computer would like to remind our loyal troubleshooters that claims are for the insurance adjustors. You've all been summoned here to kill communists. If you would like to play at claims instead of killing communists, Friend Computer reminds you that he could just erase all of us and be rid of the communist threat. Hail Friend Computer!

Leaving work, heading home, hope to be back before deadline.

You guys way overthought today. Bob caught as killer. Desperate vig claim. Me and catwalk counterclaim him. He clams up. He is the bad guy. Also, self scrub meaningless. If he commie, his friends can kill. If he sk, he absolutely wants to lie low tonight for bad to blow over.

Given how closely balanced bob/me support is, think if scum are likely to let their man hang. No, they will park on novice or other third party then swing onto town vig at end. I think bob not s, he cimmie.

I out. If I die, ichabod, keep the joy flowing for me.

We don't need the reveal anymore. Serdoa confirmed that Rowain didn't visit him on N1, we now know that Rowain had nothing on Serdoa when he made the call on D2. If he is town, he has handled this thing in a very anti-town way. Making that call without anything on Serdoa was anti-town. Not answering the yes/no question on whether he did have information on Serdoa was anti-town. If he had had a role like seer and had scanned Serdoa, then staying silent would not have been anti-town, but since he didn't, it wouldn't really give anything away to the scum if he just answered. After Serdoa tells us Rowain had nothing on him, Rowain was around but didn't even try to explain anything about the whole debacle, which is anti-town. I don't think he'd be making all these anti-town moves as town. wink

Serdoa has convinced me that he is town. smile

Gazglum's story seems to be true. Of course that means he still needs to be killed at some point. Sorry! smile

Gazglum lies. Claims counterclaim when had to claim himself because caught killing Serdoa. He tries to rewrite history. He is the bad guy. Also has to kill every night.

(And now I'm off to bed finally... I hope. If I could sleep - and if my wife isn't killing me for being so late.)

He's already offline so clearly you will not be pressuring a claim out of him today. So you're looking for the reveal that will come in his death, and that's not the action of someone who thinks there's something missing and you need to know more. This is the post of someone who's being told in a scum thread that they need to come and help with the lynch, thus there is a short post moving onto a useful target via reciprocating arguements others have used, never mind if they are no longer relevant or he has not expressed that opinion before. Meanwhile above there is fluff padding it out - genuine message no matter what you're alignment space, avoid the fun roleplay and the ComOff stuff if you don't have much time to post, especially after injesting that volume of postage - and a weak "I would lynch Gazglum because of his role" which conveniently fails to give any tells on what he actually thinks Gazglum's alignment is. Basically I'm reading a Gazglum and Space scumpair here quite strongly, especially with the line about how Gazglum maybe should die because of his role as it is a common scumtactic to put a fellow scum as someone that maybe should be lynched but instead lets lynch someone else, as it allows him to either bus if needed or at least not look as if he was opposing a scum lynch.
Also interesting to note that one of the reasons he votes Rowain is because of him not claiming and wanting to shed some light on his role, but in his ComOff text he swings an entirely different route saying that claims are not what we are here to do. I believe the latter is a genuine view on his part and that the first part is simply because he needs an excuse to move to Rowain.

Oh and just a little something for everyone jumping up and down on the "Serdoa super-BFFness". I personally see both Rowain and Serdoa as very strong town, and if I had thought that Serdoa was in genuine danger of the lynch I would have made a similar post to what Rowain did. For that matter, I strongly believe that Rowain is town, and I see no reason for us to lynch him today.

Very skewed analysis of the events, as Serdoa pointed out.

Hmm...?

Oh and another minor thing on Xenu:
Quote:So we have Bob and Gazglum as vigilantes or serial killers or (insert defense here ______).
Never mentions they could be scum. Its not a defense, so it was definitely omitted.

Bon's posts today, at least over the last few hours, have been much better than Gazglum. Space's last post really makes me want to lynch him. Not today, I sadly suppose. Do we have a vote count?
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
