Nice thinking THH, Ichabod is at war with William already, I guess he's saying all Ichabod's troops are attacking him here, so we could attack the other side of his territory:
William seems to have even more enemies than we do...

Hmm, that's an interesting other interpretation (also there's a hole in mine since Dunkirk isn't threatened). What does the 66 mean in that case though? Anyway, in that case, that's really great intelligence, it's just too bad we're kinda tied down right now ... maybe we can take him up on it if mack accepts peace come t166/7?
In general, though, I find it hard to interpret these messages and wish people wouldn't send them, so I don't know quite what to say.
How many boats do we have?

Suttree... That is so f***ing low. You have already ruined our game, there is no need to gift your cities to mackoti.
What a joke. That is simply wrong, not only for us, but for anybody trying to compete in this game. If scoopin knew what happened they would be full of rage.
How about we select mackoti+suttree as our enemy and return the favor by gradually gifting our cities to dtay and Ichabod?
Really, all these actions from Nakor, M_H and Suttree have simply killed the game, at least for me. Oh well, I guess it's just our duty to fight mackoti for the next 50 turns until we know whether it's scoopin or mackoti, who manages to stay more intact, and then this hopefully ends. But does it really make any sense to play this out either when everything just depends on who gets the most gifts from neighbours?
As a clarification for possibly confused lurkers: Technically suttree bought peace from mackoti by gifting Barcelona (which we can't attack due to our enforced peace with mack), so it would be a mess if we would ask for a reload or anything. It's just pretty questionable, because mack would not have captured the city without losses, we also had ~20 knights next to the city and now we can't take it. In practice, suttree has simply selected his side and is a vassal of mackoti and tries to hurt us as much as possible and apparently gifting a city with walls and several longbows in it is something he prefers to do. Sigh. What a farce.

I think even mackoti was surprised - notice new city name "get this"?

Yeah, dunno. Suttree has signaled his friendliness towards mack and his hate towards us during the last 50 turns so maybe we should not be too surprised. It's just pretty disappointing that one decides to gift a city to one party when two civs have their armies next to it. Now the scenario where mack attacks the city, gets bad rolls, loses units, and we can exploit his weakness by taking Barca or some other city was just erased. Mack just got the best city of suttree's empire for free and now suttree can use every single one of his units to hurt us or defend Madrid.
I guess it's an OK tactic to gift half of your civ to one opponent so that you can stop your other neighbor from taking your other half without big losses. It's just really sucks from our perspective and again, if there are 2 armies 1 tile away from a city it's pretty sketchy to gift it away..

I just totted it up and we pillaged about 80 gold from the cottages around it. It's no longer Sut's best city :nonono:
We need a new plan based on this turn of events. How about this:
We move our 2-movers to B this turn, then next turn (165) we split things up - 5-10 knights on A, 20-25 knights on C.
Then on t166 if Mack still only has two maces in Barcelona we road tile E with the two workers either side of A. He's quite likely to be bringing up reinforcements. So we should pillage the rice and it's road and the road that his chariot is on with our axes and bowmen next turn. Of course he's in Caste so he could pop the borders this turn, in which case we have to road tile F and attack over the river. Against a mace behind 50% culture we get 36%, over a river its 27%, in a castle it's 20%. So odds are stacked against this attack.
Then our sentry chariot checks if Eridu is vulnerable we road the tile SW of Peterloo and the rest of our knights suicide into Eridu.

So the big switch that THH has been worrying about is upon us... Will it be Caste or Slavery with your Free Market sir? To build up the tension a bit here is the "Before" F2 screen.
And when we totted up how many extra hammers per turn we'd get from our 12 workshops (about 20 due to OR and forges and Heroic Epic) we decided that Caste could wait another five turns...
And this is the "After". Note the unit costs have gone down by as much as the Civic costs went up... We still need to get someone to kill all our trash though. But look at the jump in tax - 150 gpt extra from Free Market. I'm tempted to research Compass soon to build harbors in our bigger cities.
Demos and Power (whatever you do don't look at Mackoti's graph...)
p.s. We offered Suttree white peace and TBS just declared on dtay this evening...

Just for your information THH: We chatted a while with Harry about our options and some domestic changes, and we are still undecided where and against whom we try our luck next.. But I guess, Harry will put up some kind of a report about it later in the night or tomorrow. EDIT: He was faster :P
