[Spoilers] Fintourist and Old Harry have nothing to see here

Just logged in to have a look around. How much do we want peace with Suttree? He offered back for 25 gold.

It seems like nothing, given we have 1000 in the bank, but it's the principal of the thing...

Turn 165 prologue

I am Jacks raging bile duct. I think we accept this even if it does tweak something particularly annoying.

Mack is saving cash in a big way. He hasn't gone for Replacable Parts or Astronomy yet. I'd guess he'll go for Astronomy though because Janissaries are pretty good against everyone without gunpowder. I vote our next tech is Gunpowder by the way...

And here is a little threat from Mack, letting us know that we shouldn't even think about messing...

This is one of the things we could mess with. We'll get 27% on the maces and 78% on the axe attacking over the river. The axe and bowman under the unit list can pillage these roads away to prevent further reinforcement with 2-movers.

And these are the other things we can mess with. Eridu has the National Epic, but it produced a great scientist last turn, so destroying it doesn't do much good. Ur has the Sheweadagon Paya, which means that we'd knock Mackoti from Theocracy into Paganism. Unfortunately Mack can move his chariot onto the plains hill mine after declaring on us next turn, discover which staging point we've got our stack of knights on and reinforce the appropriate city.

So I can't see a good way to attack someone ahead of us on tech (gunpowder among others). But he's only going to keep getting further ahead unless someone else intervenes. What other options do we have for turning our 30 knights into land or tech?
- How about sending Mack an offer of 100 gold for Barcelona?
- How about piling onto dtay with TBS or vice versa? I don't know which way that war is going, but it seems likely that dtay is winning based on the power graph.
- Kick Ichabod off our island? We don't have enough enemies yet...
- Get to astronomy quick and boat Ichabod's capital whilst he's distracted with William? (Quick is a relative term, Astro is probably ten turns away for us.)

So to precis the options:
- pillage roads to barca?
- attack Mack?
- attack someone else?

Stage on the mined plains hill, with two workers, and threaten both?

Also I've changed my mind and think we should try and snipe (RAZE) Barcelona if it's still that poorly-held next turn - even if we don't execute a further attack. (A small gain against mackoti for little cost.) I think we should stage as if to hit mackoti next turn and continue to consider our options.

With the force in Barca set up as it is I think we lose three knights to take the city with a force of seven. Do you approve of:

- Offering Mack 100 gold for the city (should it be more?)
- Staging 10 knights to hit Barca if he doesn't give it
- losing a bowman and two axes to cut *some* of the supply lines to the city
- Putting the rest of our knights on that plains hill mine with two workers (nice idea again!)

This is one situation where I wish we were going first in turn order. Why have we got that wrong every time so far this game?

I'll head to bed now and make those moves in the morning unless someone has a better idea...

I don't think we could defend the city against mackoti down the road, so I'm inclined against paying him for it. I think I'm in favour of staging to raze it. I honestly don't know about cutting the roads, since as you say it wouldn't be complete. I obviously approve of my own idea for staging. tongue (Note it technically is possible for mack to hit our stack there with two-movers, though that seems unlikely since he wouldn't get to use cats. Just thought I'd point it out. Oh, also, to actually threaten both cities you'll need two more workers to road the grassland toward Eridu, but you already knew that.) What do you think, Fintourist?

AND THEY HAVE OPEN BORDERS AGAIN! This *&%$#&* is just gifting our front cites to Mackoti. I'm not happy about this. rant

PB14 Spoiler
Come get your revenge against Suttree in PB14. We're chatting with Arki and DMOC/Teddy about how we can take him down a notch, so you can help us out and play out your revenge over there nod

He's not gonna accept, and even if he would there is maybe a chance that he just declares and captures it back? But I guess we might as well try..

I have a feeling that unless we dedicate all the knights to a single assault we won't get results, but that's just a guess..

Happy to sacrifice our junk

Does that tile have any actual benefits compared to putting our troops in Peterloo? (Since that plains hill mine is visible to mack)

- Mack is not probably leaving those Jans+cats vulnerable, but those are actually fairly juicy targets..

But yeah, I'm fine with any decision you guys end up with! tongue I'm still playing catch-up with my RL after the travel so I haven't got the chance to log in and really analyze the situation. shakehead I'm glad that you keep doing such a great job despite the frustrating situation! thumbsup

I think this is a good reason for not trying.

Only that most of our knights can't get to Peterloo this turn. frown

Turn 165 THE END

Pillaged roads and deleted the two axes. I left the bow because it might survive against a chariot...

And in a total change of plan I put all our knights N-NE of Konig. Partly because they can 1-turn Barca (with a road), partly because this is the only place Mack can't find them (with one of his chariots) and partly because dtay has drawn his sentry chariots back and I think we might take peace with Mack and go use our knights up there...
