They need an official rulebook for both small stuff like that but also clarification on various interactions and resolutions.

I just played a game as a warlock vs a paladin, doing a daily quest. Late in the game I cleared a couple of 1's by dropping a 6/6 Dread Infernal. He cast equality to bring it down to 1 health, and then Avenging Wrath. And then all 8 shots hit me in the face instead of the minion! GG by 1 in 256 RNG luck! I wish I could have seen his real reaction to that.

I assume they will have something before release, because I honestly can't imagine a card game without a Gatherer-like database, and fan-created ones like Hearthpwn or Liquipedia don't replace it (January 28th, 2014, 05:35)yuris125 Wrote:(January 27th, 2014, 21:35)Sir Bruce Wrote: They need an official rulebook for both small stuff like that but also clarification on various interactions and resolutions. Oh god yeah, I remember the early days of M:tG when certain cards had pages of errata associated with them and certain interactions went back and forth multiple times because of subtle rule changes (e.g. Maze of Ith vs Serra Angel)... and some unlimited cards were better than the same card in revised because the wording was subtly different. (e.g. Terror IIRC). With Hearthstone, as far as I've read, two Sylvanas's killing each other leads to a Deathrattle resolution that is still not fully understood. Or maybe it's explained or changed by Blizzard by now?
Don't think it is. Also read that resolution of Redemption after a mass removal spell (Flamestrike, Equality/Consecration, etc.) is unpredictable. Hopefully it will be addressed soon
Was watching Trump Arena videos and ended up going on a bit of a run and managed to get a Gorehowl from my packs from winning these! Here you guys all go on these, since I would be interested in your input on these decks: They did well, but felt iffy after drafting. (There was also a 3-3 Rogue Deck after these I forgot to put down, but I didn't get a lot of the good Rogue cards during the draft so it was pretty poor.
Just went 9-3 with this Deck. I didn't think much of it drafting, but Spellbender and Molten Giant were unexpectedly strong, especially the Giant. Ended up playing it a lot for low mana costs and ending games. A Deck that went 7-3 and I wasn't super high on, though I did feel it was good due to the solid Cult Master base and Cairne. The fact I didn't have a ton of premium removal hurt, but Cult Master x3 with some other stuff was good and I had a strong endgame. Power of the Wild is awesome because it can end games or be a 3/2.
Test Season 2 ends in two days and ranks will be reset. I only just started grinding ranked yesterday, these seasons are way too short :/

I watched a lot of Trump before getting access to the game itself, because I love the guy's personality and calm analytical approach, and how he never rages or blames. I used to think arena seemed pretty easy until now playing a bunch and seeing how a lot of the subtle choices he makes in both picks and turn plays add up to influence the game a lot. He often gets 12 wins with decks that don't even look that good to my first glance. Also actually understanding statistics instead of treating mad bomber like a magical talisman is appreciated as well. At the same time, he also went 0-3 recently with a priest deck. I find that a little disappointing, since something like that would probably impossible in any other game. If a pro player can have a 0-3 result that means that there is only so much deck construction and skill can achieve and the luck factor can indeed screw you over pretty bad. In the long term he will probably score better than worse players, but still... Sometimes I think Hearthstone has too many cards with random effects. |
