[LURKERS] Sweet 16: Civ Party Fun Time and Philosophical Debate

What "long term"? These guys are all playing out their duels only until they come to the final realization that the game ended when seven killed retep. Barring some crazy and unlikely dogpile to deny seven his win, he simply won't lose in this field with the land advantage he has earned for himself.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

That said (and since WW teaches that edits are unnecessary lol ), I don't disagree with your point regarding gavagai and NoGas. I just think it's irrelevant in the scheme of the game as a whole.

Unfortunately for nogas, they will stunt their economy to keep up militarily with Gav who is probably going to easily surpass them. At that point he may be able to conquer them, especially if Noble runs the war. neenerneener

I'm un-dedlurking this game because some of Kuro's screenshots make my blood pressure rise a little more than I want. Say what you will about him, he's not a terrible chess player, and he's going to try really hard and go down fighting to the bitter end. But his extreme stubbornness and unwillingness to question himself about the big picture of his game limits him.

EDIT: (removed some mean stuff about other players written when I was a bad mood)

I'm starting to convince myself that Mikehendi can do well enough here that we won't see a laughably fast concession to Seven like we all kinda suspected after he killed retep. He's clearly expanded very well (especially for having no expansion traits), he's got great traits to push ahead economically, and he's apparently got a weak neighbor ripe for conquest with Knights or something. I'd say he's in great shape.

Eh, Seven is still going to win, so its about the same as it was.

Mikehendi is doing them all a disservice, the better he does, the longer it will take them to concede to Seven. alright

I just want to say, the circumstances we've met under on this site may have been set up for us to hate each other (rolf) but:

I hope you eventually reconsider that because your threads are very good when you're into it. And maybe you'll even roll a start one day that doesn't demand war to the death with ancient units in the first turns of the game.

What? I don't hate you at all William. Although we could make a new and less improve version of noble - commodore. mischief

I don't think I'll be playing again though, I don't think I have the mental strength to play a game all by myself.
