WW 31 Game Thread PARANOIA

Quote:Except, you know, Rowain specifically saying we could lynch Serdoa on this day, the same day Brick made the announcement.

Once again, I am bound to ask, how stupid do you think Rowain or Serdoa are?

Does Rowain's behavior towards Serdoa suggest conventional strong town play? The expression "crazy like a fox" comes to mind. This is a role madness 3+ faction game with a RP flavor, I think you're assuming way too readily that nothing in the game setup outside the standard meta could make players behave atypically.

Also Q this is a game where MJW WAS TOTALLY SURE the person who preformed a night action on him had to be town by rule, all he was missing was...reading his role PM wink So I take with a big grain of salt claims there is only one way to interpret a pattern of behavior.

Sorry for triple post, but one other thing. I think it's universally agreed that zak controls the robot, right? But he also has to quote like a nonsensical prior post when he makes the robot vote. That's an oddball and anti-powergaming role restriction tied to his ability. I'm of course not convinced Brick would make Rowain's faction role/ability tied to even more oddball play, but nothing about this game makes me certain he wouldn't.

At the risk of being all over the place with my suspects when the day has just begun-

We only had one death, right? And hey, guess what confirmed killer was busy being scrubbed? Catwalk, I don't know if you're commie or Internal Security or what, but I think you've floated by way too easily so far.

What.

Seriously, what?

First, you zealously crusade to get everyone who can possibly shoot scum at night killed.
Then, when you've mostly managed that, you take advantage of the fact you've killed off everyone who can shoot at night to use *use that as reasoning* to lynch someone who has stated they *only kill if they targetted someone attempting to shoot them*.

Well, yeah, that was the idea. I was just following the general trend so far of extending the game as long as possible by intentionally killing off anyone capable of shooting scum during the night phase.

Look man, if you're going to vote for me every single day, at least try to base your reasoning on things I've actually said and done.

I wanted to lynch Gazglum in large part because he claimed to be a SK. He WAS a SK, he just counted for the village win condition. There is a significant difference between wanting to lynch an admitted SK and wanting to lynch every possible night killer, something I have never advocated. I didn't argue Day 4 to kill Azarius due to his role, I only voted for him like 15 minutes before the deadline as a precautionary measure because I miscounted the votes and thought we were neck-and-neck. Again, I have never been a some sort of crusader for killing people who could kill scum- that's complete BS.

Obviously I think Catwalk is lying regarding the nature of his role. I think he claimed killing powers to head off an incriminating scan from Ryan once he saw how much heat I drew on Day 3. The reason we only had one night death was because he was shut down via scrubbing. If Catwalk's claimed power has actually been proven and he is incapable of being scum I sincerely apologize and will move my vote off him, because I must have missed it.

Seriously, I don't know what your problem is with me. Maybe you're a commie or Internal Security and trying to avoid being useful by playing crusader, maybe I ran over your dog, whatever, I really don't care. But if you really are so incredibly committed to voting for me every single day, at least try to come up with a justification that's either based in reality or more substantial than "well, it's a tradition".

Its funny how Rowain and I can not play this game without being told that we are in bed with each other no matter what we actually do. Did you really think that I would never question anything I read from him? Of course I do, but only if it actually makes sense to question it. What we had so far though was obvious village-play with no reason to do what he did besides helping the village. I still stand by the point that his sentence yesterday made no sense but even to consider voting for a guy with the power Regeneration who did use it effectively when you have basically a pool of 5 players of which one certainly lied + my indicators that Ryan is a scum-killer. Heck, even if you distrust him and me, ignoring these points is just stupid for everyone that is a villager. Though of course Bob is part of the "potential liar-list" so I guess it actually makes sense that he ignores it...

Anyhow:

Ryan

- visited every night the same target that lost a life, except N2 in which we miss a kill AND he was blocked from killing

Ryan, who did you scan and what was your result this most recent night?
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
