WW 31 Game Thread PARANOIA

@zak - Thanks. They were a fun/confusing puzzle. I actually planned to talk to you about the robot in our QT thread, but then the robot voted in such a way as to make me less confident you were behind it. So kudos I guess...

That's all I have from this morning, when I put the tablet into airplane mode and started my commute to work. I don't know if anything else is missing.

When did your power tell you that? Do you mean that he can't kill?

Also, I kill-blocked/doctored Serdoa last night, so his not losing a kill is not evidence that you do not kill.

I am still not sure if killing Ryan is best. If he is, in fact, village, his role is just so useful.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Only thing of relevance for me would be the fact that my vote for Bobchillingworth is not counted any more, due to bold apparently breaking the vote-counter.
Bobchillingworth

reasoning:
Code:
var votes = xpath("//tr/td/div[contains(@class,'post_body')]/span");
pretty sure this can't accept the nested <span>, only the outer one.
Code:
<span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: #ff0101;">Bobchillingworth</span></span>
would show up as (effectively)
Code:
<span style="font-weight: bold;">irrelevant unless containing span is colour</span>
and would then proceed to the next <span> at the same level of nesting after going "well, that's not a colour tag".

(I also updated the Clear Tally function to clear all counted votes, since it was keeping count of votes from phantom posts.)

Dammit.

Oh right, it works as long as the color tag is the outermost tag.

Spam FTW.

I bet this doesn't work though.

Okay, the latest version of the Mafia Helper script as linked above should work now.

Before the... mishap, I voted Ryan pending the results of the night actions (Serdoa, Merovech, Qgqqqqq).

Serdoa has claimed he forgot to send in a tracking order. Merovech says he kill-blocked Serdoa. Rowain says he protected Serdoa and one other person.

Qgqqqqq, what did you do?
