You sure that was our 0% GNP? I don't think we ever got over 1k GNP with science off, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, yeah this had a bigger impact than Oxford. We've doubled our gold output at 0% in less than 10 turns, and I think the increase in science is about the same.

Free Market is OP?
It looks like we can get Astro in 4 and still have gold to upgrade ships.

Yep - we can do it in 4T at 70%. We could upgrade 2ish right away, then the rest the following turn. Run a little wealth and/or merchants and we could do it in 1T probably.

That was a 20% jump in bpt and gpt just for Free Market
I've been thinking more about attacking, and if mackoti bogs down then i'm more inclined to go after Black Sword. But if we do, i still want to try sneaking two ships with zerkers around south to snipe that Moai city

As you can guess, I would be good with this on both counts. I like the idea of 2 ships for just Moai - much lesser investment if it fails, and that's the only city that would really hurt mackoti to lose that we can realistically hit. But after the jumps from Oxford + FM, we're in a position where we can compete economically with mackoti - not to mention if we add a bunch more island cities from Black Sword with 3 trade routes apiece. Trade routes are where it's at right now, really, and we already hit the conqueror's plateau so they would be a nice bonus. I actually really like them as a defense buffer from Mackoti. They'd all be totally dispensable if they had to be, and would make it much harder for him to surprise us by sea.

Makes me wish we were EXP (cheap harbor) or IMP (cheap Customs Houses)

Turn 169
We settled our 29th city:
And THIS is why we need to settle a couple more island fillers:
Instantly profitable. Hooray for Free Market. We could use Corp too for sure. Also, this is something we've been keeping an eye on lately:
Probably nothing, but it's been hanging there for awhile (5ish turns), and that's a weird place to store 3 galleys when you have military in the area. Anyway, from that position it's not really threatening at all, but I've been checking it every turn just in case. Globally, dtay struck first blood:
Noted the MoM golden age from Plako too. Also this:
Yes, pindicator, I'll admit I am tempted.
