WW 31 Game Thread PARANOIA

Matt is right, Xenu's role name does stand out. But why would he lie about the name if he doesn't lie about the actual role? And if that's not his real role, then that'd make Merovech scum with him since Xenu knew Merovech's power name before Merovech revealed it.

I think it's a complete null-tell that Xenu claimed Detect Mutant Power (if he did indeed), for the same reason that it's ludicrous that I'd lie about my flavour. He'd have absolutely no reason to lie about it, and we've been fooled plenty by meta considerations before. With that said, Xenu is a liar and I'd really like to see him dangle dancing

I agree. Though I also am really not looking forward to lynch for "meta-game" reasons like his name not matching the others, because I find it entirely plausible that BRick just screwed us over - as he did with town-SKs, changing the game-rules 2/3 through the game or a few other points.
It wasn't so much 'lynch for this meta reason' as "I'm having a hard time picking between these two, as doing so implies that one of them was *really stupid*. Can I find *anything* to swing the balance?"

N4 I went Jowy for clone restoring goodness. You can see how well that worked out.

...note to self: every second use of ability had terrible results. Lewwyn(N2) quit before he count shoot twice, Jowy's(N4) ability became useless and we all dropped to a single clone.
Anyone want to volunteer to be a target tonight? Don't be shy now, scum, I'm sure it'll turn out well for you! tongue

Catwalk made it; novice added some clarifications: http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...#pid455662

Most explicit other role name there is novice's Donation -> sac own clone to give clone to target.[/align]

Catwalk, can you tell us more about your flavor? About how exactly Absorption ties in on it?

I can't see any way Absorption ties in with it, that is the claim Xenu has made up to mislynch me.

Whoops lol Let's say I was cunningly trying to get you to misspoke. Yup.
What I meant to ask was to the guys who think that "Absorption" would fit with Catwalk's claim and he wouldn't need to fake it if he was scum. How does it fit in?

He 'absorbs' the kill aimed at him and directs it back to them. Would make sense to me for the role he claimed.

Alternatively of course he could have lied about his role because he was nervous to be scanned as killer and made something up on the fly for the name as well. But that makes insofar not much sense as that he could still have kept the role-name he had - though Bob also came up with a different one than his real one.

What role could Absorption be though? It sounds like what MJWs power should have been called. So maybe it is a weaker (or stronger) version of it. Similar to novice and Jowy or sunrise and Ichabod.

I've already killed on seer, I'll trust the other one I guess.

I think analyzing Bob's or Zak's actions might be futile since we don't know what their secret missions were. But we can analyze the scum's reactions to Bob specifically who we seem to be universally agreed was the guy with the scum cover. I've yet to re-read, but if not me then at least someone should re-read the thread, or specifically D3 where Bob was under a lot of fire. Might give us some clues to the identities of the scum and maybe a correct answer to whom we should lynch first since one of them is bound to be scum.

Mattimeo, in the event that Xenu hangs, I think I'd be a good target for your power. My ability becomes more useful the closer we get to the end game, and I hope to have a decent portion of town cred if Xenu is exposed.

Serdoa, disregarding Xenu's attempt to frame me who do you find more suspicious? I haven't been going after Xenu all game, I tried to mediate when Rowain went at him heavily. I also tried my best to talk you out of lynching Ryan. Ryan was arguably an immensely more powerful seer than Xenu, whose ability is completely useless. Maybe it was meant to catch Bob, given the nature of his role. If I'm scum and had anything to hide, I would have killed him tonight when I paid him a visit.
