You guys realize that the only useful thing my role allows me to do is catch people lying about something they really ought to know better than to lie about? And that I STILL caught someone in a lie about it and am now in trouble over it.
You made the right desicion with your role. My concern is that this might also have been the right decision to make as scum
Quote:The only possible out for Catwalk is that someone redirected my scan and that the PM I got from Brick saying "Absorption" is really someone else's role name. But no one else claimed that, so someone else would be lying. So which is more likely, that Catwalk spun a yarn about me to clear himself when I scanned and revealed his lie, or that someone redirected my scan result and onto someone else who also just happened to be lying? Do we have suspicion of a redirector out there? I don't have time to flip back to the last updated spreadsheet Serdoa or Catwalk/Novice posted.
Err no not at all. There are two possibilities here: you are scum, or Catwalk is scum. One of you is lying, this is about 95% certain. (The remaining 5% involves a bunch of scum roles who diverted your scan in the hope it would doom a town. Which I dismiss out of hand.)
Quote:Finally, remember that of the two of us (between me and Catwalk), there's only ONE of us who has a confirmed kill role. What do I have to gain by lynching Catwalk? I'm only doing it because of the scan results, that's it, that's my investigation. And I've already shown where I haven't lied on previous scan results, and other people, town people, have confirmed the truth of the reveals. What else do I have to do to show I'm not lying? If I was scum why would I risk bringing myself out into the discussion with a false accusation? Catwalk isn't all that important for scum in the end game if he's telling the truth anyway, nothing says he has to die for scum to win, right? They just need a majority, not to kill everyone. Sorry, I don't see why this is a hard vote to make.
This is hard because you have been more scummy for the majority of the village then Catwalk has, but your reveal points the other way.
Also, I don't see anything wrong with Catwalk having a kill role - as far as I recall, Ryan scanned neither of you at any point (so its not confirmed) and he claimed it before any pressure appeared, at a time when there could have been other PCO in existence. I know its been crossposted but I haven't seen you (or anyone for that matter) reply to it, so I did give reasoning as to why you might bring a false accusation, as did Serdoa.

Qg stands out to me, as he's only come out of the bushes once the talk of a compromise candidate started. He seems happy to bus Xenu and ride to victory later on town cred.
All of this is under the assumption that Xenu is scum, so why wouldn't you hang him? This looks so like survival at all costs that it has made me reconsider.
Also, I didn't post because of that at all (I actually didn't notice it had been raised at the time). I posted because I realised that today was the lynch and I needed to contribute my thoughts before it occurred, and I wasn't sure I'd be back on. That's why I did the Happiness then too.
Quote:1) You get to mislynch a villager at a time when you were likely to be lynched yourself. That's a good trade.
2) You take out a villager that has a strong role in the end game. With novice and Serdoa confirmed villagers and Merovech possibly being a town healer, me having a protective ability is lethal for communists.
While I agree there are reasons for this gambit...neither of these are them. Xenu had a chance of being lynched, but he wasn't the most likely candidate. And your role was not that strong at all - scum could just target one of novice/Serdoa instead, or another random villager if they were worried about being blocked. You just wouldn't get nightkilled...which is a lovely excuse for scum.

Those are the facts as you are describing them or know them to be. What doesn't make sense (IMO) is either of your arguments - you assuming that everyone automatically believes you but are instead doubting if it was altered in some way and/or not comprehending that people (myself included) believe you could be lying (AFAICT you seem to simply not understand this possibility), and Catwalks odd arguments for compromise candidates. (You did 100% the right thing with the reveal BTW, if you are town).

Attempting to get anyone else lynched is utterly terrible play.
On the other hand, if you're scum, really anything goes - delaying the showdown for a day could bring it to LyLo, especially if we pick wrong of the three 'random' names you've supplied as an alternative.

Your deflecting arguments *really* aren't helping me not want to lynch you here...
This completely.
I'm struggling with who to lynch. I worry about it as a scum ploy, with Catwalk chosen because of his kill ability (which Space has underlined) and his odd play, but I'm not sure if Catwalks play is bad because he's flailing scum or just his ordinary self with its odd view on the world. I also agree with Merovech that we have overly cleared Catwalk in the past, but he is still less scummy then Xenu.
Actually I think I find that I don't think its a scum ploy because of how it has been executed, while a scum setup would likely be more planned...but then it was a massive "Did I find a lie? Oh goodness me!" moment. Okay, I'm going back and forth, but I think Catwalk largely because at this stage in the game I think I'd prefer someone to be lynched by a lot to stop scum jumping at 2:59:59.
