So, give me a break.
Black Sword had those cities defended by multiple longbows on a hill. I don't believe for a second Mackoti had the troops ready to kill that. Anyway, TBS played, so I checked on defenses:
I was honestly expecting less in Chrysalis, considering it's not a terribly valuable city, and I would have thought TBS had shuffled all his Knights over to the mainland right now given that he just lost his monster shrine city. I didn't do anything else except pause since it's just us and OH left to play, and we won't be able to finish this for awhile yet.

I think your fundamental issue is the same question that's been around for ages. What's appropriate when you no longer have a chance of winning the game?
i agree with all of that, especially the last sentence. also, even a complex valuation of pop and city tiles can never generate even an approximate value. the same city may easily be worth very different amounts to different teams. In this example, the same pop and cities is far more valuable to Mackoti than it would be to Azza. even with a complex algorithm, no absolute city value will ever be possible.

Short of holding a city auction to all players (lol?), there's probably no way to determine actual value.

You're all thinking about this the wrong way. There is only one question you need to ask. "How did you buy that city, was it gold or iron?"
If gold, reload, that's against any sane ruleset.

Dhalphir sure is winning the "most dickish IT thread posts" war.
TBS making his last stand on the island did occur to me, and it's not a super happy thought hah. We may have missed our chance to grab those cities cheaply. Anyway, I think we probably still want to operate like we're going to take them, but if he stacks up defenses, I dunno if we're equipped to invest heavily just yet.

Would it persuade you to turn north if he did turn that island into the Alamo?
