[SPOILERS] Dhalphir PB13

Plus you never know if an AI might do something stupid like take some of the units out of the city.

If Plako doesn't want to take my last city, that's fine, he can have his motherland unhappiness for a while.

I will say Dhal, when you took over for Serdoa, I had a bit of a groan and worry that you'd just fiddle around and die to plako immediately. But you've outplayed my expectations, so I'm sorry for thinking that and nice job doing what you could with what you had.

Hey, I worried that too! Hi5!

Well here's hoping our game doesn't end the same way. Just read the thread, and wow, congrats on making the best of a bad situation, if plako didn't need to kill you to win I'm sure you could've caused some real ruckus.

But, great game overall man.

I don't understand why my point of view retongueauses is so hard to understand for most people in this game. I don't think I'm being that unreasonable, and I'd love for somebody to tell me why everybody is acting as if I am.

Because sometimes you don't know in advance that you might need a pause. Simply pausing the game automatically if there are players missing a turn is good policy.

You're taking two contradictory positions here, and you're expressing yourself rudely. Your argument is that people are naturally lazy and procrastinating, so they can't have a longer turn time. But also that they know their schedule and their war opponents' schedules well enough to always be able to give notice. Most people take exception to being called lazy. Especially if their issue is too much work, or dealing with a natural disaster (Ichabod's flooding situation comes to mind).

'Fucking child', 'tough luck', 'responsibility' - these are phrases that imply it's more important to let people know about your inability to game, than to deal with the emergency in front of you, which seem like strange priorities. They also imply that 24/7 (or nearly) internet access is available to everyone, so hopping on to RB to post a quick request is a minor thing. And, for that matter, that people are missing turn slots due to sleeping in/partying/just not feeling like it. I don't think that's what's going on, though, at least not mostly.

Finally, you're trying to turn an informal atmosphere into a formal one. Rather than paying attention to your gaming friends and doing what they'd want, you're suggesting disciplining your gaming colleagues when they fail to meet policy. Which is more like a business or government. I can't speak for everyone, but I get plenty of that outside of RB, I'd rather this be a place to relax.

I mean, the general principle of 'be kind, let us know what's going on, don't make us guess' is a good one, but you're being very harsh about how you ask for it. And you're assuming the worst about people's reasons.

I think it's a given that I'm not talking about when emergencies happen.

But I see your point as to why others don't share my opinions.
