[Spoilers] Dtay's first PB: When you play a game of CIV, you win or you die

Don't really understand exactly what's happening with this whole city-misclick issue. Delay somewhat annoying as well, though I think WilliamLP is being too hardline on the tech thread.

Full report sometime today. I took popinjay, at great cost. ONE FREAKING MUSKET went through like 6 combats before being scratched, then another 2-3 before dying. TBS should build a memorial to that guy.

At least it was the best possible time for me to have this kind of luck, during the mop up phase when I have enough margin for error to deal with it. But man, SUPER MUSKET.

I should take the last continental city next turn.

Just think of how much he is saving you on unit maintenance costs. Care for some lemonade? lol

So I took Popinjay, see on the right

But man that was costly. I lost 1 unit killing 6, but the dang musketman took 10 units along with him. 10! I'm not going to complain too much because it was an opportune time for such luck and I think I've had slightly better than expected rolls for the prior parts of this war; honestly, I'm really just impressed (with the Musketman). Quite the unit there.

Anyway, now the only remaining city on the continent is Sewer Jack:

There are 6 Cuirs in striking range for next turn, and only 1 longbow and 1 pike guarding. I'll lose 1-2 Cuirs but then finally active fighting will be over.

Peregrine is super annoying, all this culture steals good tiles. If/When island invasion goes down, its first on the hit list:

TBS's remaining military forces: not that impressive

Land I want to get my citizens working, I'll probably refound Modular Man in the near future:

The North is mine:

Weird luck here. I won the ~20% fight, then lost the ~80% fight (then won the 99%+ fight). Well, w/e.

Former TBS land:

Remaining TBS land:

You'll notice from the anarchy I revolted to free market, then its on up the Compass-Optics-Astronomy line. I'll 1t Compass and Optics, then research half of Astronomy. There will then be ~5t until a great scientist to finish Astronomy off. So in the meantime I'll save gold and/or research chemistry. This is the most beaker efficient path since I prefer to bulb astro b/c of its lack of prereqs. If I needed Galleons ASAP this would be dumb, but I really don't. If TBS takes white peace I can't attack in any case for at least 10 turns, and I probably want to galley-galleon upgrade for a fleet anyway so I'd need to save gold either way and I can build galleys in the meantime.

Lol either there was lurker cross pollination or TBS and I think alike:

If I end up with that city, def not renaming it. That brave musket earned his reward, friend or foe.

Heroic deeds deserve commemoration. That unit should become legend. It was almost spear vs. tank incredible.
