March Madness: Civ4 AI Edition

I've seen it try. Typically it's Mansa when he's founded 3 religions due to other AI's not being interested in religion, I don't think I've ever seen a not-Mansa AI try for it, but now we're in anecdote land.

Wow on Willem doing so badly. But then again he went the wrong direction (south) from the beginning with his expansion, allowing the Etheopians to claim strong land that should really have been his. I think at this stage its a rush between Mansa jetting off into space and Mehmed going for domination/diplomation, unless Zara does something to spoke either of the two leader's wheels while clawing himself back upwards.

Edit: Is Mansa getting to Music first? I see him with one turn remaining in the last shot.

Well that was always going to be Mansa. Impressed by Justinian's showing though!

I'm amazed at how long it took Mansa to win. Almost all of my SP experience is with Warlords- did BTS screw with the AI logic to make the game easier or something? I know that by the end the AI development was more-or-less outsourced to Blake. Maybe it's just me wearing rose-colored glasses, but I seem to recall the Warlords AI being much better at developing an economy and much faster at winning by space.

This is great!

Interesting. I usually play in Immortal and the AI seems to try all the time. I typically see it if I choose to go for a space win because conquering won't be fun. In the sea of "press end turn 50x" I do need to periodically check the victory condition screen to make sure I'm not going to lose to an AI's culture push. I think I've played in three games where I needed to make a stack of tanks/modern armor and raze a city or two to give my spaceship time to arrive.

@Bob - Warlords is harder as the human.
