Goreripper. Here is where I had fun just before the end.

Kind of a shame about them changing the naming scheme. I don't know how many funny pictures we can find for dying empires. Probably no hot ones either.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

I am reading. This is the PB I read most often.

Good. While we wait for the Zulu tanks you should all see a fun show.

Sixty six percent odds on the first fight. Poland redux had this longbow and a chariot defending.
This horse archer beat the chariot and I got a lot of workers for my efforts too. This is a good capture and the last easy one.

Qing China is in a weird place. It only has a little population and the one longbow but I could only move knights there slowly. I worry that he will whip in more longbows. But a fifty seven percent chance to lose the sentry knight. It is a tricky roll.
I took the chance though and won. That saves a lot of stress I have to say. Also hello Gaspar. Also darn that trireme will mess up my nets.

So here is my new south west land. Just need to get rid of the culture in this last city and I am happy here. One or two more fill in cities will be put down and I will be happy here.

Here is the foreign stuff. I hope Yuri is mad at Gaspar or tries to take some of old Bantams land and not me. Although pinch knights make me very safe from conquering right now.

After I recover and get to cannons I might try and hurt the Sumer and Dutch continent. They look like they are tense and will be fighting soon. I hope so at least.
If some one wants to invade they are stupid. I am top power by a lot. The other stuff will look better when I whip in court houses in the new land and grow back better. I am working on a great person for a golden age next.

Do you mean F8? I just showed the demographics up there. Graphs are boring because I only have three other peoples. Here is the victory conditions screen. You can see how bad I hurt my self whipping but best to go in strong.

I need happy to grow back in some places but my Academy capital is really hurting for health. Furs and wheat will come from the Hashoosh capital and I will be able to settle for banana at least so that is good. Thales can be good enough at size nineteen so a grocer and a market will let it be that big with out trouble. It is not the best commerce capital but the hammers it will make in bureaucracy will be very nice. I might try for Notre Dame in the golden age. That would help happy in all of this island.

No city captures this turn which is kind of sad but next turn I should take the last thing in the south. Seventeen knights four catapults and a bunch of ancient trash. Best knights already get sane odds. I am ready to make this a one front war. The next wave of siege will be outside of Poland in five turns.

I do hope to take France first though. If he whips some thing strong in here I might not take it next turn but if his garrison stays weak like this I will be ok. Fun thing is his longbow is top defender against my knights so the phalanx will be able to kill the spear with out a problem. With luck Hashoosh will be down to just those other two cities next turn.

I did mean the victory conditions screen. Thank you.

What is defending Mameluke Egypt? What would it have cost to just blitz through it without siege support?

Damn, son. How deep is the whip anger stacking?

Well I am not at my civilization computer. You can see the units in the city a few turns ago just add one more mace now. The trouble is I could not really blitz it this turn or last turn I would have had to go to this city instead of his capital. I would expect it to cost me five or six knights earlier. I might get away with losing only three or four now even with the extra mace or two. Plus less damage on my winner knights so I can go faster to Poland and Hungary.

It is up to seven or eight unhappy in some places. But if I take Hashoosh down fast I will have free extra units so I will make my guys happy by police force.

I saw this before but it deserves a big response so here you go now.

It is very obvious now that I will conquer Hashoosh soon and own all of my duel continent. It might cost a lot or a little but the end is not in doubt. So what do I do then? Well I regrow my cities and the new ones and plant about six or seven more filler cities. Costs will go up but whipping organized courthouses will make that go down fast and my economy will recover. I am set up right now for a good mix of cottages in some few big river cities and then work shops and farms in the other little cities. I am not financial so my fishing cities will work specialists. Caste is the right civic for me here but cheap libraries and odeons give me some slots now. The big goals are constitution for representation and communism for state property. Spend fifty good growing turns and then try to launch a big invasion for more land in one of the sad duel continents.

I have some troubles of course. I have no main religion. It looks like I am going to own three jewish cities at least so I will convert to that and spread it for the boosts. I have only birthed one great person so far so that is flexible. Until representation my research is going to be a little sad.

But Gavagai has those same problems. So will Yuri if he runs over Gaspar and Noble with musketeers.

The problem of here is Seven Spirits. His economy was bad for a long time but he is looking a lot better. He is already at the place I want to be in fifty turns with his whole continent settled as well as some islands and they are all working for him right now. He is going in to the part of the game where technology comes faster and faster and as hard as it is to whip courthouses when you are not organized he will top out at minus seventy percent maintenance. He is going to be able to take a second big continent soon and he also got circumnavigation so he might just decide to run around setting fishing cities on fire.

The map is very strange and part of the problem. I could tell from civstats a long time ago that we were all in little duels although now it looks like Gavagai and Gaspar connect to Yuri and Bantams for some reason. I am on this strange big square and the shapes look like every one else is too so although it is easy to just kill a lot of coast stuff conquering is over land and very hard unless you have a big advantage in technology or power. So some one could decide to attack Seven now and burn his coasts maybe but that attacker would not gain any thing for this except a very mad good player.

I have read all of Seven Spirits reports and I think most of Krills games too. They are not going to just sit around like Commodore did in Pitboss Eight with their extra land. Sorry man you did nothing there. They have a real time lead and will only get worse. To use the term here they have a bigger snowball than the rest of us.

Looking back I should have realized faster that we were all on these strangely safe duel maps stitched together. My chance to win would have been to horse archer rush Hashoosh earlier when he was off to his very slow start but that was not the kind of game I wanted to play. Since that was out I think I did as good as I could going to knights and conquering. Mikehendi had amazing research but he had very few units so he was hurt for it. Gavagai is a lot like me except poor him like the other guys over there is not in a duel. Which is again a very strange set up for a map.

So yes it is still over. It was over the second that retep died and nobody else would get a early kill like that so I admit it is my fault there. And the fault of Mikehendi who was next to Bantams. And I guess who ever is stronger on the bad duel continents but who knows there guys.

Maybe we can take a hint from those Sullla AI games and who ever wins their duel gets to go in to a new pitboss. Make it seven players so Gaspar and Noble can be the wild card because if they really are next to Gavagai and Yuri on a bigger continent then that sucks for all three of those teams. But PB16 is won by Seven Spirits.

It is not all sad I am liking the turns right now and I hope you all like to read this and other reports. Yuri will get to play with drafted musketeers soon he should enjoy that a lot.

I log in and see that the game might be over sooner than I said because Seven can research nationalism and I think just got a great engineer. It might have been Gaspar though. Still I was sadder to see a second longbow in France that meant I could only lose one fight.
A sixty percent fight was won and then the two seventy percent fights were won so I used my phalanx to kill his start scout and France was killed.

Xanthus has a high population and a granary. Good. It is also close to 2metraninja cities but that is what odeons are for pushing back.

Mameluke Egypt is the big fight for the turn. His whip was a longbow so that is better than a mace at least. I send in the four low experience catapults and do good collateral damage with all of them although sad none of them retreat.
Nice gold for capturing the city. It also kept a granary so I am a happy man here.
Ephorus cost me four catapults and two knights. Both knights were lost at about ninety percent odds which is sad but with anti depressants and alcohol I am getting through it.
I can now settle the double banana site which for Greeks is a requirement to settle you know.

Here is my entire ugly box land. I am going to push some catapults up to Poland next turn to start bombarding so Hashoosh man your days are numbered. I turned on research to Civil Service. I am a very close second in GNP so that is nice when you see how sad and small most of my cities are. Thales is huge though so that is doing some thing right.
Twenty five knights means I do not have to whip any more. I did my last whips this turn for more siege I will have eleven in two more turns so that should be more than enough for what I need to do to Hashoosh. You can see my sad worker force here that needs to be fixed soon but not by whips.

Commodore can you cover for me Thursday and Friday I am going to have to be out of town?
