What is defending Mameluke Egypt? What would it have cost to just blitz through it without siege support?
Well I am not at my civilization computer. You can see the units in the city a few turns ago just add one more mace now. The trouble is I could not really blitz it this turn or last turn I would have had to go to this city instead of his capital. I would expect it to cost me five or six knights earlier. I might get away with losing only three or four now even with the extra mace or two. Plus less damage on my winner knights so I can go faster to Poland and Hungary.

It is up to seven or eight unhappy in some places. But if I take Hashoosh down fast I will have free extra units so I will make my guys happy by police force.

I saw this before but it deserves a big response so here you go now.
It is very obvious now that I will conquer Hashoosh soon and own all of my duel continent. It might cost a lot or a little but the end is not in doubt. So what do I do then? Well I regrow my cities and the new ones and plant about six or seven more filler cities. Costs will go up but whipping organized courthouses will make that go down fast and my economy will recover. I am set up right now for a good mix of cottages in some few big river cities and then work shops and farms in the other little cities. I am not financial so my fishing cities will work specialists. Caste is the right civic for me here but cheap libraries and odeons give me some slots now. The big goals are constitution for representation and communism for state property. Spend fifty good growing turns and then try to launch a big invasion for more land in one of the sad duel continents.
I have some troubles of course. I have no main religion. It looks like I am going to own three jewish cities at least so I will convert to that and spread it for the boosts. I have only birthed one great person so far so that is flexible. Until representation my research is going to be a little sad.
But Gavagai has those same problems. So will Yuri if he runs over Gaspar and Noble with musketeers.
The problem of here is Seven Spirits. His economy was bad for a long time but he is looking a lot better. He is already at the place I want to be in fifty turns with his whole continent settled as well as some islands and they are all working for him right now. He is going in to the part of the game where technology comes faster and faster and as hard as it is to whip courthouses when you are not organized he will top out at minus seventy percent maintenance. He is going to be able to take a second big continent soon and he also got circumnavigation so he might just decide to run around setting fishing cities on fire.
The map is very strange and part of the problem. I could tell from civstats a long time ago that we were all in little duels although now it looks like Gavagai and Gaspar connect to Yuri and Bantams for some reason. I am on this strange big square and the shapes look like every one else is too so although it is easy to just kill a lot of coast stuff conquering is over land and very hard unless you have a big advantage in technology or power. So some one could decide to attack Seven now and burn his coasts maybe but that attacker would not gain any thing for this except a very mad good player.
I have read all of Seven Spirits reports and I think most of Krills games too. They are not going to just sit around like Commodore did in Pitboss Eight with their extra land. Sorry man you did nothing there. They have a real time lead and will only get worse. To use the term here they have a bigger snowball than the rest of us.
Looking back I should have realized faster that we were all on these strangely safe duel maps stitched together. My chance to win would have been to horse archer rush Hashoosh earlier when he was off to his very slow start but that was not the kind of game I wanted to play. Since that was out I think I did as good as I could going to knights and conquering. Mikehendi had amazing research but he had very few units so he was hurt for it. Gavagai is a lot like me except poor him like the other guys over there is not in a duel. Which is again a very strange set up for a map.
So yes it is still over. It was over the second that retep died and nobody else would get a early kill like that so I admit it is my fault there. And the fault of Mikehendi who was next to Bantams. And I guess who ever is stronger on the bad duel continents but who knows there guys.
Maybe we can take a hint from those Sullla AI games and who ever wins their duel gets to go in to a new pitboss. Make it seven players so Gaspar and Noble can be the wild card because if they really are next to Gavagai and Yuri on a bigger continent then that sucks for all three of those teams. But PB16 is won by Seven Spirits.
It is not all sad I am liking the turns right now and I hope you all like to read this and other reports. Yuri will get to play with drafted musketeers soon he should enjoy that a lot.
