Looking good, DMOC!
Dantski told us that Sulla/Speaker are to their north. Therefore I still believe in a donut with islands around...
Any thoughts on a long-terms strategy yet?

Long term? Just try to get as much land as possible and GROW our population (growing pop separates experts from beginners). When i first started playing immortal, i had size 8 capitals in the 1000AD era ... not good. On deity now, usually I get 12-15 by 1 AD.
Getting a capital that large in this game by 1AD will be hard since usually I get more food than this to work with.

Turn 58 / 1680 BC Turn Report
Notable Events/Observations
- I compared the amount of cities that each player has. See the screenshots below, count the # of cities listed on the diplomacy screen, and add 1 to that total since the capital isn't included, to see how many cities each civ has. We are on the lower end, with 2 cities.
- Rolan whipped a settler for 2 population points. Fortunately, Writing can still be researched in 5 turns thanks to the furs.
- The worker finished a mine in Rolan, so Rolan now has 5 excellent improved tiles.
- Krondor will complete the monument next turn.
- Two sources of silk were found, just outside of our reach.
- Of the civilizations that we have met, only the Ottomans have Writing.
Screenshots:
So after the monument, we'll go the proposed Axemen-to-1-turn and then a barracks, and then switch to axemen (after the barracks or, in the case of an emergency, immediately). Then, a second axemen. Two axemen + some from Rolan should take the barbarian city.

Greate update!
What will Rolan build next? The copper isn't connected, so we can't start on an Axe straight away. Shall we put some hammers onto a granary untill the copper is connected or do you want to build a barracks?

Oh, I thought the copper was connected. Oh well, just build a barracks for now and switch production to an axemen once we have the copper.

DMOC, do we vote in favor of the time split rule in war? I agree to that rule.
