Finished the pasture and opted to mine the riverside plains hill as opposed to construct a riverside cottage. I'll be behind on foodhammers for the foreseeable future and will rely on hooking up the goldmine to power early GNP.
Moving the scout back revealed helpful information, with the discovery of what looks like a small island and some fish. If it's an island, an early hookup for +2 routes should be prioritized, probably at the end of the plans below.
Onto other priorities, here's a preliminary dotmap. Marvel at how a grown person lacks basic artistic flair.
I'd like to claim this valley before Nakor. Blue dot is the 1st ring pigs/cows/gold/clams city. North Red dot settles on top of sugar to share pigs and gold with blue dot. This is not a great long term city, rather a jumping point to yellow dot. Alternatively, South red dot is a stronger long term city, but requires a border pop to do anything. You could argue whether such a jumping point is necessary, but proceeding directly to yellow dot seems like a big outreach. Yellow dot has first ring cows and wet corn, and 2nd ring marble.
As another alternative, ignore the red dots to proceed directly to purple dot. This has first ring hill sheep and cows. A middle of the road alternative between the early strength of sugar red dot and the long-term potential of the southern red dot. This option replaces yellow dot with black dot, which could also be placed on the east side of the river.
Both options include the obligatory Pink Dot on a hill with pigs and sheep. This is the stretch spot which may or may not be available, depending on how close Nakor is.
