What's up Lew...I saw some friends playing CivRev on Xbox Live while I was watching the NBA Playoffs on the WatchESPN app and thought, "god that game sucks, I wonder what's going on back at RB?"

Apparently, the answer is a lot games involving dueling balance mods...and some bizarre AI tournament. One of these is not like the other...

Also, I hunted down some tier lists by Krill and Gaspar that were brilliant because who doesn't like lists and putting people in their place? I was amused and agreed with them despite minor quibbles.

As for the ethics debate? I think the only thing RB likes better than playing CIV is taking imperative moral and ethical stands on other people's games. RB gon RB.

I haven't been reading any of the AI tourny stuff because... AIs. but the balance mods are interesting.

I think RB has always had a sort of internal standing. People sort of intuitively understood mostly where everyone stands on skill level. Most of everyone here is pretty competitive but also pretty smart. The lay of the land, while not explicitly stated before, is pretty clear on the highlights I think.

Ethics debates, I assume you are speaking of this games lurker thread, but you should read the PB16 lurker thread if you want some pretty classic RB ethics/drama/humor/satire mix.

I will definitely check out the Pb16 thread. That sounds like it will be rife with soapbox hilarity.

I would love to play another WW game, but I don't think I could participate to the level necessary. I started a job at a new firm and I'm working 60 hours per week right now, trying to find the time to rock climb 2-3 days per week, plus I'm doing triathlon training and occasionally dating now that I'm divorced. Which means unless I'm going to reprise my "don't look at me guys, I'm too busy" act from WW3, then it's more or less impossible.

I would be willing to sign up for another CIV MP game if I had a for real partner, since I would love to play but could never play a turn consistently.
