I seem to be having trouble connecting to the game. This morning, before I went to work, I logged in and moved my scout; however, my connection timed out before I could hit end turn. I then went to work and didn't think much of it. However, I've come home 11 hours later but I am still unable to connect, and I've noticed other players have been able to successfully play their turn in the interim. I at first thought it was something wrong with my setup, but I am able to connect to PB18 just fine. I reset my computer and am still unable to connect! Is anyone else having trouble?

Thank you!! I still can't connect, but at least the game isn't held up on my account now.

I am taking the server down for a few hours since we're going to shuffle furniture around in the living room, including the computers and the server. I will post here when everything is back up and running.

Sounds weird, no one else has that issue. Have you got v1.21 of the mod loaded before connecting to the IP address?

Yeah. If I try to connect to a game with the wrong mod loaded, Civ just straight-up crashes, doesn't say that the connection timed out. Besides, my original problem started while I was already connected to the game and had already moved a unit! Hopefully I'll be fine once the server is back up.

Does this solve your problem GermanJojo?

As I wrote in the PB18 tech thread, my HDD in my server has failed miserably. I do have backups of all the PB savegames dated May 7th, but I don't have the money right now to purchase a new HDD for the server, so I have no idea what to do about this right now. This certainly explains a few weird behaviours lately though, as a HDD doesn't just die suddenly. It must have been suffering for some time, and decided to say bye bye today. Sigh.

Oh geez, sad to hear that. How much does a new drive cost? Could we pitch in some $$$ to help?
