Aww, I love all you guys too. The RNG even heard the support. I just won a 96% fight y'all!
One thing nasty about the Free Spread Phenomenon means I can't really trust my shrine to do the work of spreading for me; I need to spread ASAP here. So, the capital can go pound sand (okay, build a cheap Spiritual temple) a little longer while I'll immediately spread to my new city here. It needs a border pop anyway as soon as possible to get those clams on board. It'll need more than that soon, in fact...I'll be fighting Ox's culture here. Thoth's galley better be empty, is all I'll say.
Augusta is slowly, slowly plinking away at the Pyramids. It's got over 200 hammers already and I get a full 100% boost, plus there remain two chops to go; so I've got about 90 base hammers to somehow come up with. Hint: 7 per turn isn't how it'll happen. The annoying barbs naturally pillaged the camp, but I'll be able to grow soon enough to get a double-whip set up on something or other, which coupled with the mines mean I can probably swing a painfully late turn 100ish 'mids build.
Looking back now it looks like Gaspar did that lovely, painful, agonizing bulb...Alphabet woo!

We're now in double digits here in Rome! Hispana claims sheep, eventual deer, lots of forests, and lighthousable lakes. Which, granted, sure doesn't sound like much but food and commerce are what we need right now and it has both in droves. I an content with this city spot, particularly with the already-hooked sheep.
We would have planted two this turn, but Thoth opted for the Path Of Annoying. I don't think he'd actually cause trouble; he's got a lot going for himself right now and if he wanted to piss me off for no gain he's had plenty of chances with that chariot already. But still, that's a lot of temptation to wave in the man's face, and he's only human.

So the name is a mild bluff, but by now I'm pretty sure I've got iron somewhere, unless Xenu actively hates me. This is drool-inducingly sexy land right here; these two cities are going to be profitable and strong contributors all very soon.
I'm settling the next couple cities nowhere that really expands my borders, so here's the extent of Rome for now. Growing is massively increasing my GNP with the help of Colossus coast; the wheezing economy there won't be awful for long. 5t Currency now! If I just build Wealth...

This. This is just kind of shit. So much shit. Just...it keeps flowing and flowing and flowing this game...
Meh. At least I can now afford Currency, mostly. I'm going to tantrum, make no mistake, but I'm going to be doing it with money.
I don't know if Dtay will use the Pyramids well...his build solicited a Mackoti Post, though, so he's at least getting good advice. A glace at the top cities screen checking for where they were build reminds us who the real threat is this game; Buddhism just got a lovely shrine, or else we're about to see an early golden age, all from Mr. Stonejoao.
I settled another city, this one even sadderer than most! I'm catching up in count but I need a lot more growth in these new kids before they're up to snuff. I have a new, focused, targetted goal: Knights into Mali, with Ottoman support for the dogpile. Every city at this point is going to be designed to meet that goal. Dye/silk means Calendar is next, of course, and I will probably try to snag your MoM, but that's only because 18 turns of golden age make a crapton of knights plus some great artists for teh bombing.
War is coming, lads. Be ready.

When I have a gifsplosion and nobody cares, it makes me a sad panda. But hey! This turn I'm actually beating some people in city count, like Gaspar and Thoth! Sadly/weirdly, I'm *not* beating Mr. Dtay. He's going to friggin' blow up now, and those two (Liberate) signs will Just. Keep. Taunting. Me.
Primigenia is nothing particularly special, but it only cost me a mere -7gpt to settle it, thanks to its location, and it shares a couple okayish tiles before it pops borders for tundra riverside sheep. I am content.
It's really nice when everything flows together. I just grew Cyrenaica off of improved tiles and furthermore shared out sheep! Whatever shall I do oh wait. Colossus!
Planning to celebrate my mass cities with a HG build, if indeed I can; clearly Dtay will be gunning for it too.

Hey, people besides Mack were posting in Dtay's thread (including me), so the advice he's getting may not all be top quality.
Tech plan? We must have praets!!! City raider praets, not city garrison!!!1 (And I know they don't get CG promos, you just mentioned using them defensively before, which is decidedly not the most bloody way to use them, so it doesn't meet with lurker approval).
