Ha! So can I expect an updated sandbox from you... mischief

Wish=>Command - I've got the trade routes and overall commerce per turn right and we've got 30 beakers into Currency. Is that right?

Based on civstats it's Whosit! Iiiintresting nod I would be very surprised if Whosit can actually conquer CH at this point. CH's 9 cities (now 8 I guess) mean that there is significant production power. Let's monitor the situation anyways and build some opportunistic galleys if I'm wrong and CH starts going down rapidly. Otherwise it sounds like that we might have a 2nd crippled neighbor alongside Azza, which might become handy one day..

Naval invasions including multiple galleys aren't the most attractive thing on paper, but maybe we wipe Azza and Mardoc with an enormous horde of knights and then use Galleons to conquer Cheater Hater..? crazyeye

By then a few of our knights should have 10xp and be eligible for the Amphibious promo... We should try to take Combat II over Shock if we can.

That already sounds like a huge amount of popcorn Lexi does not strike me as the most competitive newcomer of RB history so I wonder what happens.. Probably someone benefits eventually big time.. lol

Crikey. I'd guess that'll only set wetbandit back a little bit, and Lexi will donate him a bunch of land, but good to see one of the better players getting set back smile.

Turn 89

- 2 chops come in and we 1-turn a settler in Daisy, Cornelius will whip another next turn
- Cornelius works our first specialist turn of the game, 33 more remaining until we get our first great person.. Based on our civic switch/religion revolt timings it will either launch our first GA or build an academy in Alfie, Butterscotch will probably start working simultaneously towards a Great Scientist as well..
- Whosit razed/took "Tarkir" the only city of Cheater Hater that we actually had vision on.
- I think 2 more turns and then we have graphs on Mardoc, who's next? Cheater Hater or pindicator?

Somewhat surprisingly we are (tied) food leaders again:

With several new cities going to be founded soon we might actually lead that stat in the near future. At the very least we should be close to it. I'm not sure if I commented already, but I think there are at least a couple of players with Alphabet out there. We weren't the first ones, but pretty much on par with other "Alpha dogs" crazyeye

5th place in soldier points is pretty solid.

bow bow bow Planning could not be easier now nod

We are 8 beakers behind the actual game, but I'll adjust it somehow during the turns T90-T92. I'll work an imaginary town instead of coast or something..

Hmm. CH lost a size three city while Whosit gained a size one city. Or Whosit whipped and gained a size two city. Guess we have to go look to find out...

I think graphs on Pindicator are going to be useful. The longer CH thinks we aren't interested in him the better.

In the sandbox Cornelius was working a forest over the cottage t88 - was that deliberate?

I assume you mean last turn? Yeah, that sounds like Whosit kept "Tarkir", our civstats replacement does not give us exact information so we can't know for sure. (He might have settled a city somewhere else too)

Works for me!

That was actually part of the plan, it must have looked pretty weird crazyeye I had to generate a little bit more overflow from the axe build that went into a settler this turn. That plains forest was chopped this turn for Daisy so it could not be worked this turn and thus had to be done a turn earlier. This way Cornelius was able to put 21 foodhammers into settler and it can be double-whipped to completion next turn. No worries, I'm pretty sure that this is the last and only time that we are working a 1/2 plains forest in this game nod (I think I'm going to work 0/3 plains hill forest tile once also because of a settler build though, IMP bonus makes one do ugly things..)

I almost want to try your sandbox yet I don't know if I could handle a huge map.

I don't really have anything else to say so keep the good work neenerneener

Edit: Ha it actually work. Now let see what your guys are doing
Edit2: Reproducing your turn 89 is harder than I though.

Where would you put the next few cities retep?

Here is the T89 sandbox for you retep! T95/T100/T-whatever screenshots or observations are more than welcome. smile Personally I've found out that normally one needs to sim at minimum 10 turns ahead before one gets the feeling how the snowball is actually rolling (if at all) crazyeye

Dunno, without checking T89 yet I though you would put one at the fish+corn in the north. There was also a worker over the silk in the south so maybe you were going to put something there?

Turn 90

1. Colossus was built. Surely dtay (EXP/PRO) took MC with Oracle and secured himself some workable coast
2. We whipped settler in Cornelius
3. Izzy whipped granary in the south
4. Cheater Hater is down to 7 cities (2 cities lost so far). Unless he changes into "conquer India" mode I would expect that we get to settle our continent without competition (I still plan to seal our border at ~T100 with our 15th city)
5. Azza is 4th last of actual players in score, it seems that his promising start is turning into a disappointment. His Math ETA still shows 28 turns so I wonder how crashed his economy really is. He has "only" 7 cities so maybe he just isn't working any commerce tiles..
6. We know that Barry and Jowy have fought a war, but I wonder why Nakor is doing so badly scorewise. I'm saying this already: Dear lurkers, please intervene if someone attacks Nakor and he just stops playing and gifts all his cities.
7. I thought I took screenshot of demos, but apparently not. #3 in GNP and Food, above average in MFG.
8. Next turn I'll provide the graph dump as we finally have enough EPs on Mardoc (I should not have spent those 20 EPs on Barry)

Yep, there is settler already in Flossie and that northern spot will be settled on T92. In the south I'm planning to settle on the plains hill next to deer on T95. That is not especially valuable city on its own, but getting silk improved will be great for us (and because silk will be in the 2nd ring, the city must be settled well before we actually get Calendar). But I think OH would like to hear where would you settle our next cities (without the boundaries of our existing plans).

Sandbox for T90

I try to include the updated sandbox into turn reports in case you guys have interest in simming/testing stuff (or just want to criticize my actions)! tongue Based on past games I would say that I will still have energy to keep the sandbox updated (and do some test runs) for about 10-30 turns. Then it probably starts to become too much of a work and the focus will gradually shift from micro to macro anyways. At the very least I want to continue planning until we have CoL and Calendar, because those will be jumping points for our civ and planning around them should still create significant value. nod

I was wondering if settling NE or NW of deer for 1st-ring silk would be better, but if you think you can pop the borders before Calendar comes in then the extra food from lighthouse lakes is far preferable.

After that we've got a bunch of uninspiring tundra to settle which I'm a bit stumped about the best path for... If we get Calendar soon then the capital can almost work all the tiles we can cottage so another sharer-city isn't necessary. Red seem like obvious sites, orange are quick to set up and cover every useful tile, blue get us an extra city on FIN coast, but need one border pop to get one city going. Also what order do we go - the best city (five lighthouse lakes nod) is quite a stretch and needs a huge road...

bow Your efforts so far are amazing. I had another rough play through from t89-96 last night going Currency->Calendar to get our happy cap up ASAP and felt like we were short on workers (likely due to a lack of planning) so perhaps CoL first is better? I tried whipping workers into Moai but did the first two turns before stone was hooked duh.

More general observations - I think Englebert is a good candidate to work specialists, while Butterscotch has a lot of cottages we want to grow and can build workers out of food to slow growth before we get Calendar. Building our workers in our northern food-heavy cities and gradually percolating them south to develop the new cities seems sensible, as there are a few tiles in-between that still need developing. I'm keen to cottage the grass hills around Alfie...

Does anyone have marble that they would trade us for an MOM attempt? mischief
