So, the map looks fun, and I'd hate to see it go to waste. I also think that the +4 beakers/city is silly and will make the game unfun for everyone.

On the other hand, I feel like the rules of this game are very amorphous. If we're going to continue it, I would like:

1) To be provided with a complete and accurate changelog. The first changelog provided was not complete and the second was not accurate (maybe it will be accurate after the Summoner trait is modified, but I don't think it's too much to ask that Qg/Bob take a look to make sure).

2) To be allowed to make new picks based on accurate information about the mod. Since we've now all seen our starts, some people might want to modify their picks based on this information as well.

3) To receive assurance that if the game starts again, the Bob/Qg team is just another player. That means no further
midgame rule changes (particularly rule changes which would nerf opponents, boost themselves, or require a restart).

i think first we should see who wants to change their civ after the rule update of the beakers bonus only on the capital.

If any1 wants to change their civ, then he/she chooses the new civ, every1 gets the chance to change their civ (and perhaps add a ban if needed.... ajem Volanna), and we restart on the same map.
If no1 wants to change their civ, we just continue the game.

Note that perhaps is useless: Perhaps we can keep the game going till turn 50-75 and then add the fix, so they get the bonus on every city for a couple of turns.

I feel I may have inadvertently given an inaccurate perception of my role in this game. To clear, I am only a dedicated lurker, and playing turns for Q as a favor. I have on occasion discussed v10 with Qg at his behest, but am in no way otherwise involved with the development of the mod. I do not know about any changes you do not, nor do I have some sort of secret mod knowledge I intend to use for my (ie. Q's) benefit.

As for Q, I do not believe he has access to his PC. I posted his Summoner fix in this thread yesterday- someone more involved with this PBEM can attempt to implement it. It is possible no restart will be required at all, unless people want to change picks. I would prefer to limit my involvement as much as possible from here on out- this isn't MY game.

Well, if I don't get my 4 bakers per city I want to repick, I also want to ban Volanna in that case on this map with this start, cause it's ridiculous, or at least to change my first pick to Volanna. My understanding was that summoner is finally playable, it is actually a good trait now, maybe a really good trait. With only 4 bakers in the capital it is still a pretty shitty trait.

It's biased ofc but I'd just continue as is, though that will make the game really hard to win for Aurorarcher. I think varn was greatly buffed in the recent patch as well, I mean you get CRE one of the strongest traits early game, and then right when you don't need it anymore you can pick another one, thats huge. In fact all of us picked really strong leaders with v10, except Aurorarcher.

EDIT: Two bakers per city with sum, I would be fine with that.

Looks like Kredom's set up a poll.

I don't see any reason not to play on this map (restart or not), since everyone had the Starting Settler bonus and thus nothing particularly spoilerish should have been revealed yet in the fog. I'd suggest to either play on as is or just tweak Summoner slightly (still keeping it competitive i.e. probably per city); I think this balance of picks was good, and repicking leaders knowing your own start might bias things. There was a reason I didn't reveal screenshots to anyone until after everyone had made their picks. smile

Yep, though I think there isn't a IND/EXP civ, if there is it would be my first pick though ^^

That'd be an awful shame. I've put a lot of effort into this map, not to mention all the administrative work. Care to explain your reasoning? Is it just uncertainty regarding the changelog?

I'm fine to continue the game as it is without restarts or any changes regarding Summoner giving +4 beakers/city. This is afterall my first EitB game really (and also PBEM game) so I wouldn't mind keep the game going and not waste lots of time getting a new one started. But I do agree with HK that the changelog probably didn't provide all the information correctly and thus it kind of sucks to start the game and notice things working differently than you thought.

On the other hand if most people want to restart or do some changes to Summoner of course I will stick around and play with restarted game also.

Okay, you guys are being better sports about this than I am, for which I apologize.

If we're going to keep playing, we have the option to implement the fix or not (assuming we can fix without a restart). I think if we don't implement the fix, the game will be very lopsided. I'm also not so happy with the other option, not because I think it leaves me underpowered (+4 beakers in capital is still really good) but because Keelyn isn't a leader I would have chosen if I wasn't worried that I needed a Summoner to keep up with the competition.

Anyway, it won't matter for a while yet so I'll keep the turns flowing.
