Commodore came. Commodore saw. Commodore conquered.
Meta Knight has fallen, and knights are knocking at my doors.
And at just, just the wrong time, right as I whipped in 4-5 pikes, Thoth cut my iron.
This actually probably hurt him, (Thoth that is), Commodore is going to make much more rapid progress without pikes in his way (for 3 turns anyway until I hook the iron, actually a different iron, again). Which probably will get him more of my empire in the ultimate split, since he'll capture more cities faster with fewer casualties.
I retook Link again, this time in force. Culture+my road network should let me hold this position for a while, since I can threaten the surrounding cities with horse archers to keep troops pinned in them and my stack of catapults will let me massacre the first stack Thoth sends at me.
Need to figure out the commodore front though.
Remaining question: When does Gaspar decide to join the party?
He certainly should, at least 3 cities are just waiting to be taken up north.

Ouch about the iron. Refresh my memory, what happens to the whipped hammers? Pikes still in queues (or maybe there but not visible?) or hammers wasted? Horrible timing for sure though. Make them suffer!

Not sure. I guess I'll find out.
This is certainly my fault though, it was preventable, I just didn't put two and two together to notice that was my only hooked iron supply and perhaps Thoth would find it useful to sacrifice a horse archer to cut it.

Been running into forced tradeoffs between defending against Commodore or defending against Thoth. For instance, this last turn I left Marth somewhat under-defended because I decided to use my horse archer and catapult stack to murder Thoth's newest invasion (he sent ~20 units in to threaten Link).
Is this fair? Still kind of wondering about that. Thoth attacked me first, so I think he gets most of the vengeance targeting, though I'm pretty sure Commodore was planning war anyway. Another factor is I can just do so much more against Thoth b/c of the lack of knights, the same stack that has totally stalled Thoth and retook 2 of my cities from him would perhaps delay commodore for at most a few turns.
Now that I think I'm reasonable safe in the east though I'm going to try and turn around the remaining horse archers and catapults and try to score a hit against a knight stack. We'll see how it goes.
Gaspar took 1 city and sued for peace for another, which I took. They're clearly just biting stuff off before Commodore takes it, earns them no real animus at this point.
In the broad geopolitical impact of this war, if Commodore manages to get my pyramids and GL cities (despite them being WAY closer to Thoth) he might actually be boosted back into contention.

Thoth is really doing his (accidental) best to ensure I never sacrifice my units to slow Commodore's knights
He landed a mid sized stack by Donkey Kong. So now I have to deal with Commodore threatening the capital and Thoth Donkey Kong on the same turn.
Managed it for now at least. Thoth's stack is dead and I have 7 units (6 long bows 1 HA) in Master Hand so Commodore can't take it this next turn at least. Earned yet another great general as well.

What ended up happening?
And if you have time for an overview shot that would be nice to see. Put your enemies to the pain!

Don't think so. There was a ~4t gap between when iron was cut and i got it back up though so I wasn't doing a direct comparison.
Overview shot
I feel like I'm desperately trying to plug a million leaks right now, I get the feeling this is where it all ends.
Huge commodore stack of knights over west
Random Thoth incursions and, most significantly, a knight, in the east

Just holding still for now. Both commodore and Thoth are consolidating/healing forces, probably for a coming big push. Neither left obvious weaknesses either for me to retake a strategic city, so while I could probably get back 1-2 particular cities it would be for 1 turn at a poor troop exchange ratio.
TBS gifted me a Trireme which I used to kill a galley (hopefully with troops on board). Most likely that was in return for me giving him 2 workers I had traveling through Gaspar territory (they were fleeing from Commodore and got caught in the north, and I don't really have use for them). I meant the troops to just be payment for the gold TBS gifted me earlier, but I'll take this too
I think I'll give TBS my now-useless gold stockpile (no more units to upgrade) in hopes of getting him to give me more ships. Or units. If he could get some knights to me... maybe if I request iron+horses for gold?
