Would have to check the resources to the northwest, but it looks like settling where the Scout is would block off several coastal city sites as well.
1W of the Horses might be ok, I'd be able to tell better from a screenshot centered on the spot. Or I can just check it when I next log into the game.
Will keep an eye on Civstats and play if you haven't done so. Remember that I'm a day ahead, so "tomorrow" is Friday for me.

Hmm. I'm still very mediocre skill-wise (I mainly play Monarch), but 2W of the horses seems like it might be an interesting choice long term. With 1W, the whales will never really be of use unless you can found a coastal city north of this one. Of course, you have to last long enough to get to Optics to make use of the whales, but I'm OCD about trying to maximize my use of resources. Though you would lose the horses without a border pop, and you'd lose a little bit of production from those hills. But it would be a kick-ass Moai Statues site.

That spot might be interesting, but unfortunately we need a first-ring horse or first-ring copper for our next city. Emperor barbs will have no mercy!

That, indeed, is the best reasoning.

Oh right, sorry... I keep forgetting that! So, uh, if between 0 and 20 hours of this post the turn is up but I haven't played, and between 44 and 68 hours of this post, if you could play if I haven't I'd appreciate it!

Settled the SS Mont-Blanc. Maintenance in the game is worse than in the sim... is the world size different here somehow?

Hmm... if it's a Tilted Axis map I think it'll be non-standard dimensions. Perhaps that's it.
Either way... ouch, that's a bit rough. At least the road will improve our commerce somewhat once the new city is hooked up.
As a side note, I generally prefer to use binary research in the early game (0/100) to avoid minor rounding issues, though it's not a big deal either way.
Looks like we could use another Worker or two sometime soon.

Will try to keep an eye on the game tomorrow in case you're away, though my time will be a bit limited. Tricky to remember when only one person can get the Civstats notification per civ.

Do you want to use your email for that? I don't use the email reminders because I just keep a link to the tracker in my bookmark bar.
I have been using binary research BTW, its just we didn't have enough to finish Pottery with it on. Started 2 Granaries and a Worker, as according to the plan:
Should we scout with the workboat towards the NE or the SE?

Seems like a coin toss to me, though I would probably go NE (I tend to always go the left when making a random direction choice).
