Lol, BGN! That is very sound advice indeed
And thanks, xenu! If anyone has any ideas btw on how to facilitate DNS name redirection when you don't have access to a domain's zone files btw, that would be splendid. As things are right now, we have a lot of people that need to change their hosts file in the event that my IP should change (which is bound to happen at some point if I have to turn off stuff due to thunderstorms or some such). I am using the no-ip.org address to ensure people don't need to dig in tech threads when things like that happens, but the hosts file does not support ns to ns. Only ip to ns.

Well, we basically can't take over the domain names because we don't own them. That would require Gamespy to give up control to someone (to whom?) and that's not happening.
I think the only real solution would be to find a permanent, high uptime host for the NatNeg application, on a server with a static IP address so that people who make edits to their host file can be assured they won't have to change it again in the future.

All games are down due to yet another thunderstorm. Since I am volunteering on a TedX event today, I will not be able to get the games up again for 9 hours. Enjoy the break!

I'm sorry about all the issues lately, as there's really been an excess of them. Between the Gamespy servers shutting down, and this season with unusually active thunderstorms, this is as annoying for me as it is for you players. Today was a power failure, probably because there's been a thunderstorm while I've been asleep. All games have been reloaded now.

Maybe I need to call in a toaster-exorcist?
