How many players are you gonna wait for? We are at 5 now yes? And I would prefer barbs off especially if the difficulty level is beyond prince.

Let's wait a day or two longer and see if another person is interested.

I updated the first post to remove some of the ??? on settings. Confirm ban on WE, scout start for everyone, spies can scout, speed normal.

We still need to decide at least the following before picking civ/leader ... we don't want to be arguing over settings after we have more interest than necessary in the outcome

* barbs on/off I suggested on because that adds some spice to the game. Spice necessarily introduces more imbalance and I would be OK with them off. Opinions from Jowy and retep?
* difficulty ... I really don't know how difficulty affects barbs (or the specifics about how difficulty affects anything except AI buffs). Just pick a difficulty and I'll roll with it.
* confirm map type as full of resources lakes script, or suggest something better. Water %? 30ish? 20ish? Random?

Another thing we need to hash out is play order (by play time).

+ Cornflakes 6-10 eastern, will be asleep half the time if the turn comes later than 10 but will play it later if awake and not war turn
+ ReallEvilMuffin sounds flexible. Is there a preferred window for you?
+ retep 3-6 Pacific = 6-9 eastern ... if you go before me then we should be OK if we lived in a perfect world
+ Jowy ... ???

I favor Prince for Cylinder, Noble for Toroid (given Normal speed).

We are okay with Commodore rolling/balancing the map?

I say barbs on. They help to avoid completely buildfest. But if you guys want then on that is okay.
To be honest I'm okay with any map.
Difficulty should be set depending of the wrap of the map to balance tech cost. I think Monarch for cylindrical is okay.

I think I would be better if you go before me in turn order. My best aviability is between 6-9, but I can still play 9-11 without problem.

In resume, I'm super flexible about everything!

I'm fine with that for difficulty, and also your earlier suggestion for cylinder with 4 players and torroid for 5. I don't have all leader traits off the top of my head, but Wang is the FIN/PRO? Meh, I don't care one way or the other. Sure, if somebody wants Wang then go for it. And we can add Sury to the banned.

I don't care whether we do 4 or 5 players, so let's do this: Commodore, whenever you have a convenient time to roll maps just post in here and let that be the cutoff. If someone joins then roll a 5-start torroidal, otherwise roll a 4-start cylinder. Once you post here we'll apply for a subforum and start spoiler threads so you can post starting screenshots before we pick civ/leader.
