He did move a warrior into the city, but I decided against razing it. First of all, I know he's Haram's friend, and I'd rather not send him into immediate total-war grudge mode in a repeat of PB20. Besides, suttree (now up to 5 cities, as seen below) is definitely the bigger near-term threat even though he's a bit farther away. At any rate, we really don't have hammers to spare on gratuitous military with this combo.
Won our 99.1% odds battle with the barb warrior, go figure, and discovered, in good/bad/ugly news here, that we have a barb city to conquer!
The good news is that its not a bad spot on its own; the bad news is that emperor barb cities I think are immediately filled with barbarchers, which will make this a real pain in the ass to take. Still, cheaper than a settler I guess. The ugly news is that this kinda messes with our dotmap, as copper/crab, both first-ring, was a pretty sure spot. As it stands, I think we have 3 spots in the north to consider, all three of which we'd want but am unsure as to which to get with the settler about to pop in Titanic:
1.) has a first-ring plains deer, second-ring wet wheat, lots of forests for Moai (now tougher, as Barteq seems to be a lot closer to the stone than we are, as I noticed another border down there)
2.) wet-wheat first-ring, fish second-ring
3.) copper-first ring, flood plains second-ring already in culture, NO OTHER FOOD but would supply copper to make taking the barb city easier. We'd need to farm the floodplain to make this site work; yes, I also just puked in my mouth a bit.
There's also the wheat/clam spot below Lusitania to consider.
Right now I'm leaning towards doing 2 or 3; I think we can probably take that barb city with an axe and a trio of chariots, with Lusitania building the oomph and Titanic focusing on the GLH.
Sorry to hear that you're so busy, but do you have any thoughts here? I get back on Monday evening, and can take over the turns again then. Think you can cover the Sunday turns?
