Well how much hammers is the Mid is quick? 340?
GT does have a ton of forest but and hills if we can get it to expand borders might be an option too, although this would definitely would be need to be sim.

Do you think we need to? We are only working 3 hammers in IB, so the +25% doesn't give a bonus. And we don't want to build a missionary right now. OR costs a bit more, so perhaps we'll be wasting gold for no benefit. I think we revolt when the chop goes into IB, which will be enough to get the bonus.

Or am I missing something?

Yeah, that's not really helpful. I thought it worked diferently.

I don't know. bang I'll check when we get the save.

I'll update the sandbox tomorrow with what we've done so far, so it's easier to sim.

Oh I thought the chop for IB finish next turn (I didn't check the save this turn) my bad then.

A rough math gives me that with stone + OR we will need 145H for the mids.

It's probably worth revolting to Judaism immediately, anyway, even if we wait on OrgRel. Doesn't cost anything, and we might find a use for the happiness. I'm not sure on the order of things at end of turn, but if it were to spread to LS, for instance, we could use the happy immediately.

I like a Mids run. Worst case, we get a bunch of failgold at 2.25X to boost us quickly to currency; best case, we've got lots of happy and a huge research boost.

Agreed.

And that's true, failgold would actually be a very good result, to boost our way to the important techs (currency/calendar/CoL). It's pretty much a win/win situation, if we plan things carefully enough.

I keep forgetting to post overview pictures. Most of the things I post only make sense to retep.

We have 6 cities.

Capital is size 6, at happy cap. It'll stay there and grow when possible (when we hook up ivory and when religion spreads).

LS, the second city, is size 6. It has 1 unhappiness and will be 3-pop whipped next turn.

PPM is size 3 and growing to happy cap, since I aborted the worker plan there.

GT is size 4 and will be 2-pop whipped next turn for 2 workers (I already have hammers invested into the worker, so no need to spend a turn). I need to study this a bit more, perhaps growing to size 5 is better before whipping. It only needs a turn and we don't need the new workers so fast as we'd need with the marble city being settled next.

IB is size 2, working deer and gems. It'll finish the granary and just grow for now, likely on a monument/WB/military unit. There's quite a bit of river grass there, that's why we settled this far reaching cities.

OT was settled the last turn, so it's size 1, working a 2/1 tile. Sheep (4/1) will be improved next turn. It'll also grow, probably working cottages before working the copper. It's a risky city, but at leadt the terrain is very defensible. It's on a hill and surrounded by hills and forest, which deters fast attacks. When we expand borders there, I think we'll be pretty safe.

I'm actually considering getting a farm shareble between IB and OT. Deer and plains sheep is too little of a food surplus, even for cities that have mostly grassland to work. We'll get a shareable crab soon and a plains cow, but the farm can really help for a while, I think.

So, we have 6 cities and 22-pop, soon to be 17. CY will really fall from all the whipping, placing us near the other players. Our next city will be settled on t49, if there's no trouble with Commodore's warrior. The new city will steal corn and fish from EG, when EG is not growing - I think that's actually a pretty good timing to settle this city, since we don't plan to whip the Capital that much anymore, but we can't grow it that much still.

So I have been thinking and Mids are 150 base hammers with stone + OR.
Maths would take 20t at the most optimistic date and I don't think you can wait that long if you wanted.

LS have 4 forest to chop, same as the capital but LS has already a mine available. Anyway a lot depends if Judaism spread.
Now, I have been doing some maths, mostly on my head, and I think the fastest you can get the Mids is 11turns from now in LS (you could get it faster like 8t but that would required a lot of inefficient movements).

What do you think is a good eta for the Mids? I'm not that familiar with quick speed, but considering Commodore and Pindicator won't go for it and THH seems a little bit down (for his title) and he is FIN anyway the only other competition would be Dazed who already slow down a bit his expansion to build Stonehedge.

Worst case scenario would be to switch to OR and make a misionary to spread it.

I think maybe the worker that finish the chop for the granary in two turns over IG could head for the stone.

I'll comment tomorrow, i'm incredibly tired today. 11t seems pretty good for the Mids, considering the circumnstances of this game. I thought we'd need more.

Anyway, I'll think things more througly tomorrow.
