Removed my experimental variations of Caster of Magic due to Seravy's mod becoming a purchasable item on Steam.

Beta Version released!! (see opening post). 1.01 and 1.02 versions fixed some major (mostly accidental) balancing issues.

Quote:Skill Changes:
_Runemaster's discount is now 40% (instead of 25%)
_Artificer's discount is now 60% (instead of 50%)
a runemaster/artificer combo can now enchant items for free and then destroy them for 50 % of the item value? that generates unlimited mana. i think the runemaster/artificer combo is already too powerful. that's why i reduced the artificer bonus in my mod. it would be cool if we had a chance to forbid taking both of them.

i like the idea of your changes to mages a lot. i might copy that.

Race name bugs are probably because the game uses shared string spaces, which means the strings 'Dwarf' and 'Draconian' in the creature list are also used for city names. I had that problem when I was modding, and had to reorder a bunch of names to fix.

I'd be tempted, if practical, to make runemaster -50% and it doesn't apply to enchantment at all. The big benefit of Artificer is that you have Enchant Item and Create Artifact that you can trade to an AI player, which is safe because even in Insecticide the AI is really incompetent at enchanting.

i reduced the costs for creating items in general. i'm not sure if that makes artificer more or less powerful. items from lairs cannot compete with expensive self-made.

New versions released, hopefully balancing things out a bit:

Impressive work, Hernan. Looks really good.

You should post your .doc with all the changes and tables here. Also, the documentation of spells is missing.

Good idea about expanding documentation. I've resisted doing it because I kept making changes while doing my initial heavy-duty testing.

I might add spell documentation and comments, summoning unit comments.

I put a new version up with a lot, lot of minor changes

and I will soon put a new version up, maybe with improvements in documentation besides changing halfling/high elf unit bonuses and a wide assortment of balancing tweaks after testing my games.
