Got in a bit late last night and rushing around today, will have more time tonight to play in the sandbox.
"Settler on T28, 2 Warriors, 1 chop, capital size 3, 11 hammer overflow." This sounds without delving into it a decent option. That sounds like a better proposition, the OF can go into another worker for the EXP boost to hammers.
GF and I have been together for 4 years, but not married nor engaged. The only thing left is the formality.

No worries, the game isn't quite ready to start so we still have some time to figure out our opening.
That's exactly what I was thinking...send that overflow into a worker and we can finish our second one 4 turns after the settler, which should get him out very soon after our second city is founded.
Well, my wife and I got married on the 5-year anniversary of our first date, so I know how it goes. We got engaged about 8 months before that.
What kind of work do you do?

Oh, and it looks like it's going to be a fun game with Genghis of the Zulu...only thing that would make it better would be Toku of Rome.

Augustus Caesar of Persia seems like a good solid choice...I'm curious to see how they do. And Julius of HRE, very interesting choice. So far the only civ with Mysticism as a starting tech...looks like they may go for the early religion. And their start may be slightly different than ours (with the pasture resource on the river instead), otherwise they'll be slow to tech without at least the extra 1 commerce from the riverside tile.

Oh, THIS is going to be fun.
1. Dreylin/Ipecac/Ruff - Montezuma of Vikings
2. AdrianIer/Old Harry - Shaka of Rome
3. Agent427/TBS - Genghis Khan of Zulu
4. Caledorn/Plako - Julius Caesar of HRE
5. Elum/Mackoti - Augustus Caesar of Persia
6. Grimace/Wetbandit - Mehmed II of Korea
7. Whosit/Gavagai - Washington of Mongolia
There are a couple of unpleasant-looking aggressive empires there. I'm 99% certain D/I/R were going to grab Shaka if AI/OH hadn't done so. Shaka of Rome...that is going to be...unpleasant. *shudder* I sincerely hope we don't share a border with them.

Well, we're in the middle of the crowd. No FIN and 3 AGGs, I guess my opinion of AGG is not a majority opinion. Mildly surprised with the Monty pick, didn't see that one coming. Seems like they just wanted to play SPI?

That's a sweet story to tell. I think our first date was the day before or after Thanksgiving, so there's no way that's happening for us. I'm an attorney. I promise that I'm not a monster or on any television ads.

Guess it isn't safe to ask if you represent any monsters or people who are on television ads. ![wink wink](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/wink2.gif) . It's OK about being an attorney, we need all sorts of people in life. I claim to be the evil antagonist of a cult/religion and no one even made me do that. You can't be any worse a person than I am.

I think we've got a really good start plan. The harder part is going to be expanding successfully and maximizing that.

As far as attorneys, individually they're no better or worse than anyone else. But as a profession you want to put them all in a building, bar the doors, and burn it down. ![neenerneener neenerneener](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/neenerneener.gif) One of my oldest friends is an attorney (which I tease him mercilessly about), but in general I don't have a lot of faith in our legal system. Too many ways to abuse it, and too many people willing to do so in order to make a buck. However, I certainly won't hold that against you, and the attention to detail that is necessary to be successful in that business probably helps a lot in Civ.

Probably not. I'm lucky to have some clients that pay their bills on time.
After reviewing the cast of warmonger leaders, it is prudent to note that Mehmed II was also known as Mehmed the Conqueror. So, uh, take that everyone else.
Yeah, lots of work to do on the micro plan. I think having BW in as the settler is produced, versus a turn or two after, will greatly help in informing the second city's placement (with an eye towards copper). I don't think it's likely that we will get rushed (cf PB17 zulu impi rush), but having copper on hand for axes or spears, as the case may be, will be helpful; especially if we're close to AGG Zulu.
Was there a final determination for if huts/events are on?
Edit: Should be PB19.

We can absolutely win with him...realistically you can win with any leader. We'll definitely need a little luck to come our way, though, even if it's just not being a target.
I agree as well that the possibility of having copper with our second city is a huge advantage if some of the other folks (especially IMP) who may get it out as quickly or a little quicker, but not have any idea where Copper is. I think we'll probably be the fastest to BW (Rome could potentially get there faster if they have a coastal-based resource).
I have no idea if huts/events are on...I posted in the tech thread so we'll see.
BTW, do you have a google account that you use so we can chat on Hangouts if we need to?
