[Spoilers] The Network assimilates ipecac, Ruff_Hi & Dreylin (Monty of Vikings)

That patch panel comes as indicated in the Amazon picture. There's no plugging jacks into it, it's one unit built with the Ethernet ports on one side and cable termination on the reverse. You punch down the Cat6 cabling on the back of the device (see the other photo here) with a punch tool. Screw the wall bracket to your wall (or a piece of plywood that's mounted to the wall), do your wire punches onto the 110 block/patch panel, snap in the patch panel to the wall-mounted bracket and you're set. Don't forget your wire tester to make sure all the pairs pin out correctly at the end. You'll need four good wire pairs per cable to achieve Gigabit speed.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

Anyhoo...

So the game is live; I'll log in tonight (8-9hrs time) and take some pictures so we can discuss the early Scouting and settling tomorrow. I've also registered teh leader at civstats, since I think I'm going to be the primary turnplayer...

A testing tool - yes, I must get one of those too.

Re the keystone jack ... that is the part that gets plugged into ... not the plugging part. But - it looks like you are right ... the patch panel includes the keystone jacks.

Anyway ... I decided to take your advise and I am looking at this a 24-port patch panel, a 2U wall mounted bracket (it will go under the shelf in the cupboard) to hold the patch panel. I will also add a 24-port switch (eventually) to the bracket.

2U bracket (getting it from www.firefold.com ... but waiting for their $5 weekly deal).

BTW - I think we should use home wiring nomniculture for our city naming convention. That would make our capital 'The Hub'.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Civ claimed and confirmed techs OK, but I guess we'll be restarting for Grimace's problem.

FWIW the password is:
hubbahubba
Since we've got full view of the BFC, I doubt there's anything we'll find with the Scout to change our minds WRT Settle in Place, so should we go ahead and do that, see what else it reveals, and then plan the first Scout move?

Yep. If nothing new is revealed, I say we should follow the river - but the river ends 2N, doesn't it? The tile N of 2NE looks like coast but I can't tell for sure.

Well, here's SIP:

Double pigs is a little eek if we'd seen it we could have moved, but that would have cost us the Plains Hill and the Fish - still not sure it wouldn't have been worth it without seeing further!

Scouting we could go 3-2 to admire our Pigs (and then 2-?) next turn. Alternatively we could go 9-9 and then further East.

Tech plan is Mining -> BW?

Oh, and I'll rename the Cap / Civ /etc. next time I log in (unless I forget)

Password it as previously noted; civstats tracking is here: http://www.civstats.com/viewgame.php?gameid=2803

We're the last to play BTW...

I say SE-SE towards the pigs (which is 9-9?) All that food!

Actually 3-3 - referencing the Num Pad key placement rather than the phone placement. Took me a little while to get used to it, and TBH I prefer using the cardinal points for less confusion (unless W & E cause you a problem wink ) but have got into the numbers habit with my teammates in another game.

SE-SE looks good to me; then if there's no open tiles to the East of that we go SW onto the second Pigs and then maybe SE again?

Since I'll be rolling the turn, I probably should play the second move without consulting in order to keep the game progressing - provided you agree. So the question becomes are we keeping this Scout local to circle and defog, or are we sending him long to try and contact other civs, etc.?

That's fine.

There's no known tech bonus for ancient era, so I don't think finding other civs should be a priority.

Defog until we locate 2nd city site (must share some tiles with capital) and then go further afield.
