[Spoilers] The Network assimilates ipecac, Ruff_Hi & Dreylin (Monty of Vikings)

Who wrote the song 'can't touch me'? We can use his name as the city name.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

I was looking at the plan. Not sure chopping into the settler really worth it, given that the city will be doing 13fh/turn.

They did a 'post your first 30 turns' thread at RB some time ago and that was a pretty common comment. They were playing at quick speed. There are other things that people suggested doing with those 4 worker turns.

So ... Q: Do we have other things to do with those 4 worker turns?

A: yes, but not really.

We will have Hunting and Mining and Bronze Working; these allow us to Pasture, Mine and Chop. In our BFC we have 3 tiles that we can improve without a chop:

1) Pigs - done
2) Riverside Grass Hill - done
3) Coastal Grass Hill (NNW of The Hub)

Tile improvements with a chop (sequential or consecutive):

4) Plains Hill Forest

It could be argued that chopping to speed the Settler is the best option as it gives the Worker something really useful to do faster....

If we didn't want to put the chop into the Settler, we could dump it into a second WB and send it off exploring.

One of the drawbacks of the Religion run will be keeping this Worker busy - OTOH, we should be able to manage with just 1 Worker at least for the first 2 cities so maybe instead of 1 Settler and 2 Workers we end up with 2 Settlers and 1 Worker. (build Settler->Settler->Worker rather than Settler->Worker->Settler)

The first chop would take 2t off the Settler. If we chop/mine the PHF, that comes in and leases the Settler with 1t to completion. Then we can move the Worker with the Settler to improve the new spot (if East, chop Barracks; if South, Pasture Pigs).

If we are going Religion, I think we go Settler->Settler out of The Hub and grab both spots quickly. If we're grabbing a Worker tech like The Wheel, then we probably want a second Worker out before the second Settler.

However my conclusion is that we do need to do the chop somewhere.

OK, I've updated the plan to include teching to Mysticism next and then on to Med or Poly. Conclusion is that we can get the Settler to the Eastern spot before Meditation falls without using any chops or whip if that's what we decide to do. Additionally, looking at the Beaker counts, it doesn't seem that founding earlier would affect the arrival timing of Meditation - but if we're going for Poly then it may accelerate by a turn. (would have to investigate the maintenance vs addl. beakers trade-off to be sure)

t11 played. Nothing to report.

Next turn should be more exciting as we get to defog some stuff and start playing with our new Worker.
