[SPOILERS] SevenSpirits and The Black Sword - Baguettes and Circuses

Hmm, thinking about the counterargument:
We are 40 food/hammers up in the settler first plan and most of those are either food in the box or granary hammers in city 2. Both of those are usually better investments than hammers into a worker, where we try to minimise the food going in.

In any case, the point of no return is the worker starting to mine that hill. At that stage our first warrior will have gotten to the plains hill we've been planning to put the second city on. We should wait until then and we can see the full BFC before deciding.

There were a couple of score increases this turn;

Yuri grew to size 3.

Dreylin and Mack both got 4t techs, power increase agrees that it was mining. So: Hunting,Fishing -> AH -> Mining.

Our scout found dyes NE of the wheat, forgot to screenshot it. We improved our first resource!

Hi guys, Seven encouraged me to lurk somebody in this game - can it be you? smile

Yeah, of course. The advantages of lurking us include the fact that we are reporting pretty consistently so you can probably follow along well, and that our capital is named Asterix.

We grow to size 2. Yuri picked up bronze working (+6 points, +8k power). Here is the land we have uncovered so far. Our scout is traveling east along the northern coast, but has found nothing of interest so far. Next turn, our newly born warrior can head south to check out the likely city #2 spot.

Heh, pretty funny that the tradeoff is exactly 40fh vs a worker. It also looks like we get exactly the same number of cottage turns in both plans. I think in this situation, in the abstract I prefer the worker + forest instead of the 40f+h. I even think it's close if the forest doesn't enter into it, and a capital forest is pretty strong for speeding up a powerful building there later.

But maybe it depends on how good the third city will be. If it's not that great, we could go with the 40fh and whip a worker/overflow into a worker in the capital. If it looks good, we could whip settler into worker. I don't know.

Yeah, just have read about your capitol name - I take is an invitation wink.

Yeah, I think the extra forest will probably swing it.

Quick point regarding Yuri, he should have had a warrior out by now, so I assume he's growing on another workboat. Looks like plains hill, 2 fishing resources, 1 hunting resource.

And nice to have you Asterix. smile

T12 was pretty uneventful, our scout found more resourceless water, none of our opponents had score increases. New warrior is on his way to the plains hill.

Well, we have to start choosing this turn. I.e. we have to switch to a granary if we are doing that. Of course, we can still switch back to the warrior if we don't - it will just come out a turn later.

Any last thoughts?
