[Spoilers] REM and AdrienIer's thread of football, spamming and blaming it on the mod

Yeah sorry once again. I thought that turn was a pretty unimportant one, turned out it wasn't...
Anyway here's the situation out there, a chariot's coming from the south to get in that galley but it's going to be short a move to get in next turn.

The granary's still there, let's hope it stays that way on the recapture. I sent the worker NW or it would have been in range of the warrior.

Stupid barb luck happens, but it is annoying when it is avoidable is all. I'll be more free next week to play a few turns also btw, cheers for doing the turns ATM.

GJ has founded 2 cities this turn, basically we're letting him ICS with our nonexistant military. If we don't do anything he'll be able to outproduce and even maybe outtech us in a few dozen turns. I think it's time to change our plans and do what needs to be done. IMO we should go for construction and IW after calendar, maybe even before calendar. GJ is running a super weak military right now, I think that with Hwachas we could get through the chokepoint.

My main fear is that even by expanding peacefully and successfully, half of our cities would end up on the other side of the channel, which is vulnerable to amphibious attacks and would create a delay between unit production and their arrival at the fighting spot, as well as forcing us to keep a huge navy to avoid being cut in half. I don't like that prospect. What we need is to expand in GJ's land and part of the land north of his cap, to have a big continuous empire on the mainland and not relying too much on the oversea colonies. I haven't played the turn because I'd like to have your input, and a decision on whether we continue with calendar or not.

Ok had a look in and I agree. GJ is going for compass, so we can assume he is going an eco route for the cotons so we have a window. We will only struggle more the more cities he has on the mainland. So yes, lets go to war.

calendar should finish, it's an instant 1 happy from the sugar settle and another with the incense, which is much needed. And only 2 turns away. I changed a few builds to barracks and we shall take things from there! Tech wise after calendar I think IW is the next best. Although we need hatchwas we need attacking units first, and we might reveal an iron or 2 to mine from that.

We have 2 silver but no one else has any spare happy to trade atm. Whilst looking around I noticed that HAK has lost his sugar and Gav doesn't have ivory showing. Have these been traded around perhaps?

Also full EP on GJ, if we can hide demos then all the better. Also I have a cunning plan actually. What if we declare war on HAK for the hell of it in about 10-15 turns? GJ will assume that we are building military to attack HAK and may have a more complacent feel about our growing power... HAK can't really hurt us from where he is either and he is still at war with portugal.

Actually the sooner we declare on hak the better, if I'm not mistaken it should cut the trade routes between them (I'll test it this afternoon)

I was wrong, declaring war on HAK will only cut his TRs to GJ, GJ's TR will be left untouched.

Yeah you can have unilateral trade routes through a third party. So we may be able to hope that HAK cuts GJ off after, but can't garentuee it. I think we build up a bit of power, declare on hak, build another 10-15 turns or so then declare on GJ. That would be the best chance I think!

Yep !

By looking back at our comments (p37 of this thread) GJ got a hindu spread in 3ChordDorks around T55, and a barrack at about the same time. That means he'll hit developed culture around turn 105 : we have to plan things knowing that he'll have 3rd ring culture by the time we attack.

Bad timing for last post : there's 3rd ring culture in that city already.

Anyway fur is online as of this turn, giving +1happy in all cities, +2 in EA due to the market. Next turn we get the sugar, and soon the incense also. Now our main problem is working improved tiles, we're working a coast a scientist and a plain river at the moment, plus a forest grass at MCG. Next turn some of our workers will help finish the marble and plant the incense, while the rest cottages everything green enough.

Edit : Oh and GJ's on full gold this turn, he's making 78gpt while we make 82 at full gold.

I tried to log in but Gavagai is in so it'll have to wait. While looking at civstats I noticed that Plako got a score increase of 18 in the middle of the turn. My best bet is that he bulbed a tech but I wonder which one.

Edit : Actually he most likely got a prophet from Henge, so it would have to be theology. Is he going to attack somebody soon ?

Edit 2 : Of course a shrine is a wonder so gives you points as well. Anyway short turn review to come in a different post.
