Oh, and Merry Christmas, everyone!

I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Well it turns out that those borders behind CH's warrior weren't actually his:
![]() Looks like he's missed out Once Upon a Time in the West (probably too long) and Fistful of Dynamite. Twisted Pair will be settled next turn; I'll start working it into the plan - I'm thinking work the Cows (3/0/0) build a Warrior (i.e. get in unit-whipping range ASAP) is the way to start? Worker 100; I've proposed moving to improve the Sheep - alternative would be chop/mining the hill instead. Whichever we start with, it probably moves to the other afterwards. I've left The Hub build on the Barracks in the Plan, but I'm wondering whether we could consider slotting The Oracle back in - we've got a decent overflow right now and I don't think the Barracks is very necessary right now. Looking at the Summary, it's a long time before we get the next Settler; could we slot one into 2.5" t66 after the regrow? Also, we're whipping pretty hard and our cities are small as a result. We need to start working on growing them a bit and actually Working the Cottages that we've started to put down. e.g. the first Cottage could start being worked by Smurf Tube instead of the grass forest. The Plan was to get a missionary out asap, but if Elum has been showing no signs of rushing (especially in terms of Power) it isn't that urgent and we can double-whip settler instead. I forgot to factor that in; will work on when I have time this weekend.
OK, so I took that as buy-in to putting the Oracle back into the queue - so I did that. I reworked the plan using Worker 11 to chop 2 remaining forests at The Hub into it and complete t71.
What if we move the Missionary up in 2.5's queue to replace the Axe/Spear; pops t66 then switch to Settler. I'd also suggest we switch the Spear at Smurf to an Axe - it's more likely to stay home on barb patrol and those are likely to be Axes. Elum's power has been pretty level the last few turns - our 2 Spears have just about caught us up with them. Settler pops in 2.5 eot T72, and the axe at smurf can escort it to...stone area? I was thinking 1N of stone, which wouldn't be too slow if we chop into a workboat. Since we'll have two settlers popping soon The Hub builds a worker before a settler after oracle. Tentative micro for Smurf Tube: T68 worker 10 finishes pasturing cow; T69 it roads while Worker 1 moves to Pigs with spear, T70 we play after Elum and whip a spear; we also move worker 10 1W of Twisted Pair to chop with spear cover. This ensures city and worker will have spear cover. Quote:Elum's power has been pretty level the last few turns - our 2 Spears have just about caught us up with them. That's good to hear. We lost research visibility on him; is it because we changed our spending or did he change his?
Actually, neither - he finished Sailing last turn and I logged in before he had chosen a new tech. I'm keeping a close eye on EPs, so we should keep visibility unless he runs a chunk against us.
OK, just to confirm: next city is Red dot, followed by Stone dot?
Red dot can be founded turn72 if we have chopped the forest, or t73 if not. The best way to get it chopped would be to send a Worker straight there after they complete the connection - it would delay getting the Cows online, but would get a few hammers and an extra turn from the new city in exchange. If we do that, the Worker could then step straight into the adjacent forest and chop that into the Workboat for the Fish (chop would finish 2t after the city founded). We've got 1 Worker tied up chopping Oracle, and another down at Smurf. New Worker pops next turn and can put down a Cottage between Hub & 2.5" and then start the Road connection to the Stone. We might also want to take the chopping Worker along with him to speed up the connection. As for accelerating that city's start, we could always recall the exploring WB if further exploration looks unlikely. Currently it could be in the city on t71 and building the Nets on t72 ... which is the turn the Settler is popped, so we have some time to decide that one. t64 played; we lost view on Elum's research this turn, but should get it back next. We are currently break-even at 60% research; we can get through to Masonry on what we have, but will need to hold a few turns before we start Writing. |
