Wow, it's pretty crazy....team Adrien has whipped 28 times in the past 11 turns. They are surely gearing up for war with someone. Either against GJ or against Dreylin, are the only options. But I'm thinking against GJ, since he has also whipped 18 times in the past 11 turns. And both of them are the top two teams in Power on the graphs.

A little busy today so just doing a quick comment update. Gavagai resettled his city in exactly the same spot. So at this point I'm not going to be attacking him again anytime soon, but he'll likely be building up to attack me I'm sure. At least I have that much more time of the culture of my city expanding with him having to rebuild the city. And of course he either had a missionary nearby, or Judaism got a lucky instant spread to it after he settled it. Oh well.
I'm thinking of sticking another city over that way myself. Either north of GG or southeast of it. Still not sure.
I'm currently 10th in GNP and Crop Yield and Population...so my whole nation is kinda sucking. Not sure what to do to remedy this. Other than try to settle more cities as quickly as I can. I just whipped another Settler (still trying to decide where to send him) and have two more that will come out in about 7 turns.

Here is a dotmap of the area to start with. Brown is a pretty terrible city because most of the good tiles can be used at other cities. What are your thoughts regarding this configuration? I'll think on this and may propose a revised dotmap.

Things have been a little crazy for me, so haven't had time for doing any grand updates lately and this week we're visiting friends in Michigan for New Years....I'm playing, and will try to get out a more detailed update later....
But for now, a quickie....Gavagai has obviously been gearing up to attack me....and at the current state of things, he'll likely be able to destroy me.
He's got 4 WE's, 1 Horse Archer, & 1 Axe sitting in the resettled Nova Terra that I had previously razed. He's also got at minimum right now 3 more HA's and 5 Knights a mere few tiles inside his borders (my Great Spy got some visibility there), along with at least one or two Catapults.
I've been building a bunch of Spears and Catapults to station inside my city there, but a stack of WE's and Knights like that will just plow through them. I just this turn used my Great Spy to trigger a golden age (since just got Civil Service this turn) and switched to Bureaucracy, Organized Religion, & Caste System. After that switch I'm only 5 turns from completing Chitzen Itza, but I still doubt I'll win the race for it. I'm also hoping that if I do get it, that I get it before Gavagai decides to attack since my cities could certainly use the added defense.
I settled that Red dot above a handful of turns ago, and just setled that light blue dot this turn. I'm up to 14 total cities right now, though 4 of them this turn are still Pop 1 since I got a bunch of new cities recently. Two of them grow to size 2 this coming turn.
I'm like the worse civ when it comes to GNP and Crop Yield, so I'm rapidly falling behind. And if Gavagai attacks (and if mackoti takes that opportunity to do the same), then it'll be game over for me. Guess we'll see what happens in the next few turns. These will be key.

So things are just continually looking worse. Mackoti is gathering Macemen & CKNs in his territory by my northern cities. And Gavagai's power graph is just skyrocketing with nothing I can do to keep up. And he's about to get Engineering in 2 turns...I only just got Metal Casting and need to build up gold to try to get to Machinery.
With the rapid growth of his army, I'm sure he'll be attacking any turn now and mackoti will invade from the north. I'm having to send a few troops up north, which will decrease what I can use to protect from Gavagai. So it's looking like my game will be over shortly.

Sorry I haven't been of much assistance since the early stages of the game. At least as AGG/CHM you have a bit of a boost. And you will be fighting defensively. Don't worry about holding your border city(s) at all costs. Instead it is better to keep your army intact and pull back incrementally. Any chance you can get into Theocracy or Vassalage for the extra promo on units you build?

So one benefit so far is that this turn I just completed the Chitzen Itza....so immediate bump in city defenses before either of them attacked. Hopefully this will cause them to hold off a bit longer, which would give me a bit longer to also build up at the same time. Though since they both can build better units faster, it would't really matter all that much I doubt.
I'm minimum 5+ turns from Theology and more than that for Feudalism (since I don't even have Monarchy yet), so switching to those civics is not an option. I'm still at least 3 or more turns from getting Machinery which I think I need first.
I'll try to pose some screenshots tomorrow after I eventually wake up from NYE and do other stuff during the day but we'll see. I still have a few things I want to think about for this turn, so depending on when I play it later and how much time I have, I might be able to take a couple then.

Yup, it's gonna be game over. Gavagai just attacked and was able to hit the city directly even though it had 75% defenses. Killed all but one catapult that survived the attack. I had a few units nearby which I put in there to try to slow him a bit more, but once he plows through those I'm done. All I got in my core cities is a Warrior in each.

Oh joy. So I logged in just now to switch back to Slavery (while my GA was still going) and whip stuff.....only to see that mackoti was in the game....and declared war on me too. So he's coming from the north, Gavagai coming from the east....and me with nothing much of anything to stop either of them.
He's got 3 Knights, 1 CKU, 1 Chariot on the hill right by one of my cities with 2 Macemen and a CKU right behind those.
Also need to decide how to handle the turn split. Do I ask mackoti if I can go after him each turn such that I have the second half of the timer so I wait for both Gavagai & mackoti to play before i play. Otherwise I would need to wait to play after Gavagai and then he would need to wait to play after me. That'll cause clock issues.
Asking this basically gives him a doublemove this set of turns, but it wouldn't really change much for me anyway. I just need to decide right now if I move the Archer/Chariot out of Applejacks before he moves in. Since he'll be able to take the city either way next turn, killing them if they are still there.
