I see Turn Coat has two improved tiles now, at size two. So I was apparently overly pessimistic about workers . Not that your current supply will get bored, but...new cities are going to be mostly water or mostly improved by Plako/dtay. So perhaps I was wrong and it's a good time to ease off on them.
So I guess the plan is to hold north and south, and build? Lots of room for oceanic settlement still, and lots of infra unlocked in this era, after all .

Oof. Thanks for the reminder that we're not in the driver's seat here...
I can't see much downside to having East Indiamen available . But it seems first priority is a cat + hitter stack or three capable of securing the land borders.

Pretty much every city not on a forge is on a mace or a cat.

Chat with Mardoc on Dtay:
Quote: Mardoc: well, that should make 24 even more fun to lurk then :-)
he's looking to gain insight in how you can be deterred from invading?

me: Hah
Well, he's pretty much nailed it.
"Be stronger and get Plako on my other side" will work.

Mardoc: sure - but does he know that?
all he knows is 'works so far'
me: Well, those elements both have to remain in effect.

So, living in the novel-to-everyone-but-Ceiliazul world of "Whomping the tar outta Plako", let's enjoy the fruits of our labors. Day Off was settled in a slightly less provocative location, so maybe we ready can all just get along (doubtful). I'm bringing in some more war elephants and catapults, but the newest tech in the form of maces is getting shuffled south, instead. I'm building a fort south of Peace Talks, then the rest is going to be farms, by and large. Jewish missionaries out of Peace Talks are going to Last Call, Day Off, and Skin Game in that order. Nice little area, this.
Either site of doomed and stupid battles, or consigned to irrelevancy. I know which one the locals prefer.

Hey now: no matter how good the steak, one still needs potatoes and the occasional horseradish.

I hope Last Call's getting more culture than just a missionary!
