I don't think you understand.
DaveV did something to the file that changed the directory extension from "/Erebus in the Balance v11/" to "/Erebus in the Balance v11.1/"
Most likely, he just used the old WB/Notepad trick I described before (possibly in combination with WBCleaner, as he started the map up with random players first). But he never actually states what he did to fix it- only that he fixed it:

Don't forget to delete your old save files!
If DaveV hadn't did whatever he did, we wouldn't be having this conversation- as the save would still be refusing to run in version 11.1 rather than 11.0

Northstar,
I don't know what your point is here. A game using EitB v11.1 was requested and now we have it.
Kragroth and I have explained to you how to load the save and you have confirmed success.
Can we get on and play the game?
Please.
Dreylin.

North. Please follow my instructions. The name of the mod referenced in the save is what it should be.

I WILL NOT DO IT.
Northstar. The directions for installation and the way it was handled could be better. What should happen is that the installer will install 2 directories a base one and a version one (v11 v11.1 etc). This way there will only be one copy of the art assets and we have increasing mod names as the versions go up so we can continue exisitng games with no issues.
So again. Forget ehat you've read before. Delete existing folders if necessary. Install eitb v11 and then install v11.1 that's what I did and it works. Look above at my screenshot. You will see the same.
What you described above only shows a "Erebus in the Balance" and a "Erebus in the Balance v11.1" folder. It doesn't say what you did to create those, or even what versions the files are re-named from.
I have to point out that having duplicate files installed that are re-named versions of different versions is not only an inelegant solution (as even Dreylin admitted several pages ago), it's a potentially dangerous one.
If we each play with multiple different setups of EitB, each with different versions as the source, we risk creating unbalanced effects from each player playing by different rules.
For example, the hammer cost of the Infirmary was substantially reduced from v11.0 to v11.1. If some of us are running installs where one of our folders was v11.0, we might end up having to pay a higher hammer cost for the Infimary. Or worse, the game might run into issues the moment the save is passed to another player who has v11.1 installed...
Regards,
Northstar

But we're not, we're all playing with an installation of v11.1 in a directory called v11.1 - which is being referenced by the savegame
(My understanding is that there are more bits inside the save that will break if, for example you took a v11.0 installation and changed the directory to v11.1)

We're not playing with different setups. We're all playing with v11.1 please stop posting. Follow my instructions and play the game! It is fine!

I disagree with Kragroth, if you still have concerns and we're not doing a good job of answering them, please do keep posting. Hopefully we'll find a way to answer them or someone else more familiar and eloquent will show up to help.
I suspect that we're struggling to understand the concern because we're all been playing with multiple release versions of mods for a while now and have become familiar to the point of forgetfulness.
e.g. On my previous machine I had a half-dozen different versions of FFH2 installed; now I have 2versions of EitB, 3 of RtR and a ToW installation!

I probably sounded harsh there when that wasn't my intention. I pmed him my #. I think a quick in person conversation can clear things up.

Good plan.
The save's coming to me next, right? Chances are I won't get to it until late tonight, so no rush from my side.

Alright, talked to Krag by phone. Let's just roll with things from this point...
Look out for any potential issues as they come along. Dreylin, I want you in particular to check your tech tree has Overcouncil/Undercouncil at the new nodes (Poisons/Medicine) when you load up the save (since you're running a v11 and v11.1 folder side-by-side, and the save was originally genned in v11: though hopefully only the art assets are being drawn from the v11 file...)
Thanks to all of you guys for talking me through my concerns. It's never fun to be the new guy, but you guys have (mostly) managed a lot of patience so far.
